If Hendon Hooker is there where we pick in the 2nd you have to take him right?

I know he’s coming off an ACL and he played in a college spread offense but the intangibles are what sets him apart to me. He’s a great leader and was the team captain and hearing him talk you can tell he’s very smart and well spoken. He’s got the prototype size/arm/mobile combo you want like Josh Allen, Justin Herbert, etc…. The way he ran that Tennessee offense was the best offense I’ve seen since Burrow in 2019. I think he makes an easy transition to the NFL and could end up playing early although the knee injury probably keeps him watching until mid season. We need help at DT, WR, S and RB badly but you can get a power back like Tank Bigsby in the middle rounds. But you have to take a swing at a QB first because you don’t have shite until you have a QB.

If the Saints picked him in the second round I wouldn’t be mad about it.

He'll go lower than the second bc of that injury.. so yes I'd love him later

No chance he gets out of the 2nd round. Someone will take him, the upside is just too great. In the end what have you wasted if he busts? A 2nd? I can live with that 7 days a week.

I'd honestly debate taking him with a late 1st (27-31 range). You know someone is going to attempt to get infront of our 2nd round pick to get him, or a team like the Jets or Texans will take him first.

If he's there in the 2nd, its not even a debate, he has to be the pick.

He’s 25, played in a gimmicky offense and has an ACL. Likely a day 3 pick

And tore that ACL in mid November so he's not going to be 100% ready for rookie camp or training camp. 25 yr old with retarded development in his rookie year.

He will be 8 months recovered by August. Like I said, he would be watching for about half the season so he would start the year on IR designated to return and would be back around week 8.

The upside? Hooker turned TWENTY-FIVE years old today.

Upside...Hendon Hooker...

You clearly know jack shite about football. QB takes the whole package to be good both on and off the field. Hooker checks all those boxes. His age is not a factor. If he busts you’ve only lost a 2nd round pick.

Not in the 2nd round.

Absolutely not.

I don’t think he’ll have that high of an evaluation personally

The Tennessee offense is super one note. He would need to learn a LOT of concepts to play in most NFL offenses. Plus, he’s older.

I’m not saying like definitively he won’t go high or have success, but these are just rumblings I’ve heard preliminarily from scouting circles in the media.

You'd have been jacking your dick to Chris Weinke and Brandon Weeden too, huh? Hooker is as old as the average starter in the AFC playoffs right now and didn't do jack shite until he was 23 years old playing against 18 and 19 year olds. When's the last time a 25 year old QB came into the league and really did anything of note? Never. Your answer is fricking NEVER.

You talk about Hooker like he's generational when you've got absolutely nothing to back that up with. He was a true freshman in college in 2017. He's geriatric in rookie draft terms. A second round pick is so far out of the question it's hilarious how confidently wrong you are.
