stop it

Well to be fair he may be "more mobile". Doesn't mean he's a better runner.

As fast sure. But Taysom lowers his shoulder and trucks fools. Book will go flying backwards 5 yards.

I think the fact that he is adept to wearing gold helmets will help him in his first start.

Taysom ran a 4.46 at his pro day, while Book ran a 4.59 at his. He's definitely fast for a QB, but he's not the athlete that Taysom is.

It's pretty simple. If he was great, he wouldn't be on a scout team.

I doubt he's "great".

Dude's a rookie. Hill is a vet who knows the offense, has started a few games in the league. Siemian is a vet who has started a number of games (think bargain-version of Fitzmagic). Saints entered the season thinking playoffs, never really collapsed to where you would concede a game by playing a rookie.

I think Book will be a pleasant surprise.

Perhaps it's picking up the whole offense that's holding him back, not ability (fingers crossed)

This is my hope as well. Payton doesn't like to just throw a new QB (in his system) to the wolves. I'd think that's especially true with a rookie. But maybe he'll hold his own. Him being on the scout team behind 3 QBs who have been in the league much longer and around Payton much longer isn't necessarily indicative of Book's ability. But I guess we'll find out on Monday

Book is a pretty smart player.

His senior year he only threw 3 interceptions on 353 attempts. He did take a lot of sacks which baffled me because he has the ability to get out the pocket and make plays.

The ability to avoid sacks sometimes leads to sacks bc you hold on to the ball

Book is a rich man’s Danny Etling. Has better natural gifts but still gets it done by roughing it out, protecting the football and not being afraid to pull the ball down and take off with it. If we could get 175 yards passing and 30-40 yards rushing without any turnovers I think Sean would take that all day long putting that with what Kamara and Ingram will put up on the ground.

The good news for Mr. Book is this offense hasn't asked much of its quarterbacks this year.

Miami is going to be blitzing the shite out of Book with their elite safety tandem all game.

It's going to be ugly for the Saints.

I’d be surprised if they “rely on his mobility” given that his backup is a guy they signed like three days ago and who isn’t very good in the first place

He is not"good" on the long ball. Ok perhaps but he excels on leadership, management, smarts and throwing on the run.
But as to throwing it long he can learn/grow I hope.
