His father is Gary Kubiak who basically invented the system with Mike Shanahan

Well duh, there is not a coach in history that doesn't

Goes without saying

The point is we are still returning the oldest (declining) roster with limited options to turn it over. Can’t squeeze blood out of a turnip

It’s certainly within the realm of possibilities. Carr has earned the label of “taking a year learn a new system”, so that could be enough for 500 or below season

We have no ability to add significant FAs, our roster is getting old as shite, we don't have high draft picks, our OL is in shambles, and our schedule on paper is MUCH harder.

Kubiak will have to coach his absolute balls off

Goat, not sure why you're so chippy but we will sign a significant free agent. but here's the deal goat, the word significant is pretty fricking vague.

Play action, play action, play action.

Carr was 2nd in the league in completion % on play action throws in 2023. We just never committed to it.

The hope is he can have a Matthew Stafford type ascent. That is really lofty don’t get me wrong, but not impossible.

did a deep dive on play action passing via Pro Football reference with Carr and the playoff NFC teams for a shorter comparison instead of using AFC QB's as well for last season.

First up Carr:

87 attempts for 813 yards

Purdy- 93 attempts for 969 yards
Goff- 151 attempts for 1,415 yards
Love- 113 attempts for 1,105 yards
Mayfield- 95 attempts for 728 yards (Tampa struggled to run)
Stafford- 97 attempts for 1,013 yards
Prescott- 100 attempts for 613 yards
Hurts- 81 attempts for 646 yards

Link? From what I’ve read about them, most message boards are melting over losing these guys. Don’t be such a pessimist.
