Not a good situation.

Can rely on Center (Ruiz) and Left Tackle Rookie……

To Help the Right Tackle ….the Tight End will need to stay in per passing downs and offer help in run game.

Two Guards: Serious Problems.

How much money do Saints have to sign a Guard ??

As poor as Free Agent guards might be on the market…. are any better than our current guards ???

Considering the poor play from offensive lines around the league, anyone worth more than league minimum is already rostered

It would be a mistake to assume that there is a solution on the FA market.

I’m open to ideas though.

Agreed, but it may also be a mistake to not kick a few tires

Patrick can go back to being the Left guard instead of switching to center (that’s Ruiz position now).

We are now Looking for a Right Guard who can also help Penning when DL goes to his Penning’s left inside shoulder …. then TE can help Penning on his right outside shoulder.

If Patrick can’t hold up at Left Guard…. you just can’t plug all the holes!

Nah, I think Patrick is the center now. He took most of the backup snaps there in camp and has actually taken NFL snaps there. I don’t think Ruiz was a very good pick if we weren’t gonna immediately put him at Center and move McCoy to guard.

But they didn’t and now Ruiz, for all his faults, is our starting RG. Too late to move him to center as long as Patrick can handle it. And I’d rather him be next to Penning than have have Saldiveri or whoever next to him. Just have to find the best LG we can and hope Kubiak can scheme around our weaknesses. I think that’s a big ask, but we were always fricked if McCoy went down.

Ruiz is a better center than guard. Patrick played better than he ever has at LG than center.,Seems like this would be an easy decision for the coaches. Let Udoh play right guard.

I don't think the Saints think so. Patrick was first in and he just joined the team. Says it all I think. We have had a ton of guys play LG but RG has been all Ruiz for several years. Hell do you remember the horrid game Patrick had at center in preseason? And he still was 1st backup. Who knows.

Underhill reported that Ruiz will not be playing center this week.

I’m so glad we made a FA splash on a mediocre third and goal running back instead of investing in our line.

I’m hoping they pick 2 offensive linemen within the first 4 rounds of the NFL Draft next year.

This “running on fumes” per the Offensive line has to stop.

Ruiz will stay at RG. Patrick will be the new C since that’s where he played last year. I’d like to see if there is hope for Ruiz at C because he’s not worth the money he’s getting g at RG.

I mean it's not like they haven't spent a 1st or 2nd round pick on 4/5 of the lineman.
