Maybe. But he sure wasn't the reason we won either.

He’ll be 0-4 after the loss to the Bills

Make the change then

Love sat 3 years behind Rogers.
Brady Sat behind bledso
Drew sat behind flutie
Manning started 3-13

Either you throw him in there and let him learn.
But both QBs are still developing.

He will get the first 4 or 5 games.

You're not going to throw shough to the wolves on the road.

Win this week vs sf
Lose the next two weeks at Seattle and at Buffalo.

1-3 and you potentially match up vs nyg who might be 0-4 (@ Dallas, vs Kc, vs lac) or vs NE who might be 2-3 (@mia, vs Pittsburgh, vs Carolina, @buffalo)

I don't think they draft a QB with the first round pick because it means you wasted the 2nd rounder on Shough. I think you either trade down to get more picks or you stay put and build a better supporting cast around Shough.

I agree. We'd pretty much be out of playoff chances starting 0-6 and would have nothing to lose.

I agree with around an 0-6 start. At that point, the pressure would be off of Shough, which may be a better situation for a rookie to come into.

And tbh, Rattler played better than I expected from him last week. He just doesn’t have that knack for making big plays that’s needed out of a starting QB (and neither does anyone else on our offense, not named Kamara).

I say split up the starts between Rattler and Shough, and make damn sure neither of these guys is the future franchise QB before spending a top 3 pick on a QB in the next Draft. It’s hard to judge though because our starting WR’s and TE would be backups on practically every other team in the league.

While the fans are looking ahead to the future, Moore owes an obligation his players to try to win games. If he feels Rattler gives him the best chance to do it that's his call. However, I think if the Saints start 0-6 or even 1-7, the mindset will (internally) shift towards next season and Moore will start Shough the rest of the way (or at least for several games) to start the evaluation of whether they may have something in him at the QB position or if they will need to select a QB in the draft.

If Tyler is ready, week 5 is the time. 2 consecutive home games against the Giants and Patriots, then to Chicago. Winnable games. Also allows for a 6-game stretch, the bye, then a 7-game stretch to finish the year. Plenty enough time to find out if he is the real deal or we need to draft.

If the goal is to tank and get the highest pick you leave Rattler in. He won’t win a single game. Maybe 2 max if the defense somehow plays lights out. Realistically i think you see Shough around week 6-7 if Rattler looks like he has his entire career so far.

Shough will likely start the game against the Giants if the Saints are winless

at what point do you give Shough a chance?
retarded fans will call for his head after 4 games. Moore will cave then they go 0-13 with Shough.

Late career Brees would have this team at 1-0.

You are insufferable.

Shough will start within weeks 5-6. The earlier the better for a chance to evaluate him. I would think this was the plan for a rookie QB

Which is kinda why it was dumb to take shough without giving Rattler a legit shot.

How many more starts/losses does it take for 0-8 to have been given “a legit shot?”

The supporting cast is what it is no matter who is under center. The Saints have never won with 0-8. Eight chances is more than a legit shot with that cast. It’s time.

Are you counting the games last year in this? Because they mean nothing to me for the reasons I pointed out. New staff, new playbook, not having to deal with Carr trying to come back early...etc. Last year was not conducive for a young QB and I dont hold that against him. This year is what I will hold against him

I really dont know why anyone would be opposed to just giving him the rest of this season to evaluate. Do you think we are gona go on some magical run to get into the playoffs if we switch qbs midway?

The whole point is to let whoever is starting to make their mistakes and see if they can recover and learn. Winning should not matter much in an evaluation year.

Opposed only if the coaching staff thinks Tyler can be better. Then you put him in. Not complicated. If he sucks terribly and not improving you put Ratt back in. What you don't do is leave a qb in when the players know he's done. Lose a team real quick that way and it's why it's seldom done.
