How I'd try to fix the team (without firing Allen)

I preface this by saying I want Allen gone because he's the definition of a loser head coach.
He does, however, have the defense playing at such a high level that if the offense had a pulse it would have us as contenders.
Carmichael needs to go and so does every position coach involved in the offense. If Loomis wants to keep Allen, then we need to hire an assistant from the 49ers, Dolphins, Bills, etc. and promote them to OC and let them put a staff together to get this offense to the modern age.
The key part is the OC is pretty much the HC in waiting.
My other option, which I'm not opposed, is to nuke the entire team, trade off assets, and start a true rebuild with Loomis moving to Team President and Khai Harley is promoted to acting GM.

This is just not true. There are a bunch of good teams with great offense and defense. Saints aren’t close to being a contender. The NFC is strong.

Allen isn’t going to fix anything. The guy doesn’t know how to build or run a winning team.

that makes as much sense as allowing your ex-wife to still have full access to your bank account
the problem with this team isnt the players, its the coaching

I agree with you here. 18-41 for DA says its all.

If you are keeping DA and the defense, I would have to take a hard look at that Grantham hire. I think the D-line can be improved, at least find a way to get pressures more consistently.
This is a tough one. First of all, there are no assets to trade because anyone worth a shite has a huge poison pill in their contract that would kill the cap. In order to nuke the team, you would actually need to plan a multi-year approach to start getting rid of many of these contracts.
Also, you promote Harley, you most likely lose Ireland the same year. You promote Ireland, you will eventually lose Harley.

This is probably what they’re going to do. They won’t want to fire Dennis, in fact I’d say it’s absolutely not happening unless we lose out.
They’re gonna keep Dennis but scapegoat the offensive coaching staff and fire all of them, and do a completely new offense.

This is the problem.
I don't mind Dennis Allen, but when he's perfectly fine with the offense as it is, he puts himself in the crosshairs.
Allowing Carmichael to continue his role as OC is inexcusable.
"Well then who is gonna call the plays?"........literally anyone else. We only have 8 offensive TD's through 6 games, it can't get much worse (and if it did, we are losing these games with 1 TD per game anyways)

Based on their coaching staff, the 2 best options are Curry & Marrone. Marrone because he has experience as an OC & former HC. Curry because he's inexperienced and you can give him a shot to prove what you have. Hell, maybe he shows enough that a team about to lose their OC in the offseason scoop hm up and the team gets a free future comp pick.

When the head coach and OC can’t see there is a problem, there is no fixing this with a DA retention.

Demote Allen to DC you own his contract
Hire a bum of the street they would literally have a better win % then Allen
