f. I'm not saying he beats out ivory for sure, but it's possible. I love what ivory brings to the team, but he's made of glass and his running style doesnt help that. You're a dumbass if you dont think a player can beat out another from camp/ preseason performance

No one is denying this, but for this board to act like it's a forgone conclusion through two damn games is retarded.

Cadet sure is getting sucked off a lot for a guy that has totaled 15 carries for 23 yards in the preseason
This. You'd think he's looked like Barry Sanders the way he's being talked about. Catching a bunch of release valve dump offs does wonders I guess.

And fwiw, Joique Bell was way more impressive than Cadet has been and he did it with a bad knee. He got put on the practice squad.

They aren't dumping a 24 yr old 5ypc back because some guy from App St. has caught a few checkdowns in 2 preseason games.

how do you think pierre beat out a third round pick?

he beat out another rookie, not a veteran. And our RB depth wasn't nearly as strong as it is now.

The way to prove that you are a bonafide NFL'er is to tear up 2nd and 3rd string players. Pierre THomas did that. Ivory did that in stretches.

Cadet has not shown that yet. He had a few nice plays in the passing game, but has been nonexistant in the run game. Could that change? Sure, we have a bunch of preseason action yet. But in order to supplant a young, proven veteran like Ivory, he needs to do more. Chris Ivory is not Antonio Pittman.

You're a dumbass for thinking i said a player cant beat out another player based on preseason performance. AS i mentioned before, it's clear your IQ is fairly low. Reading comprehension lacking.

Cadet can beat out Ivory, but he needs to do better than 1.5 YPC, & fumbling the ball like he did last game. He needs to do better than a long run of just 7 yards.

We have guys that can catch passes better than Cadet...Ivory is the best on the team at getting tough yards.

Cadet's skills are redundant on this team. Ivory's not so much.

It's nice to have a guy like Ivory to go to in short yardage situations.

and in case the other guys get injured, i feel more comfortable with a guy that has ran very well in real games

I agree with this. I'm not arguing the whole cadet is the next barry sanders. My point i was arguing with a-hole was that it's not impossible to beat someone out of a position with camp/preseason performance. It's happened under this regime before. Thats all.

Eta- i agree it would be tough to beat out a proven vet. That point is actually valid.

I'm not reading all that bitching back and forg

I'm not really as impressed with Cadet as most of you seem to be. So far his skills seem to mostly lie in pass catching, because he's running didn't particularly stand out to me. Not to mention the 2nd leading receptor on our team was Darren Sproles. I know Ivory ran into the o-lines back just about every play, but I have to go with him who has NFL game experience.

Again, I propose this question, should 2-3 of our RBs get hurt, and we are down to the last guy or 2, do you really want that guy to be Vadet? Ivory has started meaningful NFL games and proved his worth. Who cares how he has played this preseason. They know what he can do

Yes, I would prefer Cadet to Ivory in that situation because Cadet is more versatile and allows us to use our entire playbook.
