I will go down with the ship saying that there were folks in the building that wanted to prove that as great as Sean/drew were - that they were a byproduct of their front office.
There was no reason to push the chips in after other than wanting to avoid answering if those two were the only reason for success

Agree and Gayle’s reprimand to Loomis is to give him another chance at the build. Just a clueless horrible owner ran both her teams in the ground.
The mental gymnastics many do to cover for her because she’s one of us Is laughable.

Do we really know this yet? Yes, he seemed to be one of the few people that properly rated Nix, but that is more about him vs "the media experts" and fans that get majority of their information from those experts. We still do not know how JJ, Maye or Penix.

You already addressed why there is a lot of hate for Payton in a previous post. Most of the hate is the fact that he did not address the post-Brees QB while here, and was a major driving force with the cap hell. With that said, it's been 3 years, and the cap could have been fixed if the front office didn't keep going all in because "we are one player away..."

Best post on this thread! Payton could have had not one but two all pro QB’s during his tenure. He and Loomis were the frick up the Saints buddies!

Disagree, it’s because Payton “retired” only to take a job after a year off in Denver.
It came out he tried to leave no less than 3 times during his tenure including when Brees was still playing and the cap was manageable. Fans hate him because he made it indisputable that NOLA and the region is why he left, in spite of loving Gayle and control he had here. None of this burnout shite.
Like he said “this franchise has no juice”. Payton tired of 3rd class treatment from the NFL. No way that no call happens in Dallas or NY.

Interesting because I didn't see Payton give any rankings for this year. Which means you have absolutely no clue if he has Shough #1. Which would completely destroy this entire argument and contradict your current opinion.
