This team will struggle for at least 2 seasons based on the aging expensive and poorly constructed roster

We had 15 years of awesome and won a championship, here’s to hoping

That being said, using 40 overall on a project QB given the needs of this team was a bad move imo. Hopefully he’s the next Josh Allen but I’d bet my house that his ceiling is “below average starter” in the NFL.

exactly... that's what most of us recognize... I get that some here want to remain positive and will spin it as such, but the reality is exactly what you said....

hopefully we are all wrong about this guy, and he's a fricking stud... but given the empirical evidence he's given us in his 6 years in college, I just don't see how that correlates to success at a higher level of competition...

You can’t be objective on this board. The face painters come out and bully anyone who isn’t overly positive. I’ve dealt with it since the day we signed Carr.

Per ESPN

Jonas Sanker selected 93, ranked 83
Quincy Riley selected 131, ranked 86
Devin Neal selected 184, ranked 101
Matavao selected 248, ranked 167
Diggs selected 254, ranked 221

Broughton was the only egregious reach - selected 71 and ranked 132

Banks was selected 9, ranked 26
Shough was selected 40, ranked 58
Stutsman was selected 112, ranked 114

don't disagree but at least we haven't made some of the glaring mistakes we've made in the past: small school guys with potential, trading up and giving up significant picks for guys that eventually never worked out.

I agree about the avoiding trading up thing.

However, many of the NFL’s best players came from small schools, so I never knock a team for drafting a guy from a small school if they’ve done their homework.

There’s your problem. And rankings aren’t the same thing as projections

Ok, tell me which “projections” you’d like me to use

PFF draft simulator compiles all the mocks and plots the trending picks. You can see the trends changing week to week. It doesn’t follow rankings. Make fun of it if you want but it was by far the most accurate list you can go off of. Same concept as “Vegas is always right”. The GP sets the lines

quote:

Banks was selected 9, ranked 26

For instance banks ranking was 26 according to you. But he was “trending” around 16-17 because hes a tackle. We picked him at 9 because we needed a tackle. Projection vs ranking 101

you’re using data pulled from 100s of SirWinston mock drafts and using ESPN was the problem

I don’t mind going tackle if one of two Missouri ot or Will would have slide a few spots but I think they could have traded back n got Ohio st tackle mid 20s

Say what you want it’s by far more accurate than any singular ranking list you can go off of.

You're 100% right. If Winston had posted this as one of his mocks, everyone would've shite all over it, but because it's reality, our fanbase is talking themselves into thinking we did well. You can't make this shite up

The only issue i have with this draft is passing on Jalon Walker but, banks is a going tk be a really good player. The only pick i hated was Shough. It’s just a bad pick.

With that being said the saints got probably 4 starters and Neal is going to be a big contributor eventually.

They can bully all they want, we’re still owned by Gayle run by Loomis.

Notice the bullying only happens February-September. The face painters disappear or quietly put bags on once the games start.

Looking at the class, it looks more like Gayle Benson made the picks
