Watched some film on YouTube, there’s not a lot. From what I’ve watched though he has fantastic instincts in the box diagnosing run and pass plays and then finishing and is very fluid with his technique. Not much film at all on back end probably because of Downs but man if that ability translates, he’s a 1st round talent. You heard it here first.

I'm excited to more than skin-deep depth at kick returner

Years past when Shaheed was hurt (or traded), we just let some practice squad player do it

He'll play special teams while he develops as a Safety

Hopefully, he is a lights out gunner and kickoff returner for us this year while learning how to play the star role from Blackmon. Next year, he can compete to take it over.

He's freakishly athletic. But of all of our draft picks, he's the worst at football currently.

He’s a full on project. You said it yourself there’s not a lot of film on him bc he wasn’t that great. He’d prob make a phenomenal track athlete in some field but he’s still a Longshot to be a successful nfl football player. It was probably my least favorite pick but as a Saint fan I hope I’m wrong and I hope he turns into a beast. He has the God given tools to work with .

When was he converted from WR? 2023? Likely still picking up the position.

I looked, and he started 11 games last year. This was at Ohio State, where I would assume there's plenty of good options to choose from. So I don't think he's a slouch or a total reach, just raw with a ton of athletic upside.

He returned 5 kickoffs and 1 punt in 60 games. I’m sure he could but that would kinda make Barion Brown a wasted pick

Brown was a 6th rd pick, hardly a waste.

Brown's an elite KR, who might occasionally see the field as a WR. We assume he can return punts, but I can't find a lot on that (Zavion Harris did it at LSU), looks like he did have 11 PR for Kentucky, 7.7 yd average, no scores or big returns.

Styles is an elite athlete, probably see most of his time on special teams, maybe occasionally on defense. We don't even know if he can return kicks or punts. Ohio State did see fit to move him to defense from WR, so there's definitely some hesitation to put the ball in his hands.

I say that, because not everyone can return punts. Malik Nabers being a prime example, I wouldn't put him back there to do that ever again. But a fantastic receiver.

Man frick these dumbass down voters. He lacks experience on defense but the dude is an athletic freak. And fast as shite. I hope he continue to develop and you’re right…he is 1st round talent. He was a WR and is learning how to play defenses.

If Barion Brown isn’t going to return kicks then he’s a wasted pick. They may draw the occasional play up for him but he was drafted to return kicks and likely punts.

Look im rooting for anyone that makes the saints better but a first round talent is either trolling or you have saints glasses on..If he was a first round talent with that speed he would still be a WR.

What I mean by that is he was a 4 Star.

My bad I get carried away. Think about all our rosters….even to last year the bottom was not NFL 53 man roster.

Lorenzo was a very highly rated 4 Star with legit 4.2 speed. I didnt mean to
imply he’s a Pro Bowler. However, we need this type of top tier talent on the bottom side of our roster to be a good team. Not just filling it up with scrubs. And with the tools he has…he could make other players competing uncomfortable. That is what we need. And to get him in that spot in the draft is a win. It makes our roster better.

Zavion Thomas did it at LSU. I know that’s what you meant, I can’t help myself with LSU player names though.

It doesnt matter how fast he is. If he cant process what is happening in front of him, he still cant adjust to the game.

Your sitting there. Getting all roused up for a dude that most likely wont ever see the field, except as a gunner.

There’s nothing wrong with being excited about a player considered a project. He’s only played the position for a couple of years. His athleticism is top notch. Quit being a dick. You are one of the worst Nancies on this board.
