The other 'unknown' in this area's future is when does City Hall relocate - and what goes in its place? Cantrell was supposed to do this, but she f"cked it up. Helena is likely going to finalize the deal. I have predicted for some time that the State will claim the City Hall property and develop a new Arena for use by the Pelicans and other Special Events. This deal confirms my predictions.
The intersection of Poydras and LaSalle will have the recently renovated Superdome - caddy corner will be the new Arena - and the other two corners will be Benson Group properties - 1450 and 1515 Poydras. She also owns the neighboring Hyatt Hotel. This mega complex would likely anchor adjacent developments along Loyola Ave in the CBD and kickstart mixed development in the old Medical District.

This guy knows whats up.

Its one of the worst kept secrets in the city that City Hall/CDC will eventually have to be relocated, and that they want to put Superdome/Arena related stuff in that area.

It’s mind boggling to hear you come and post about the stupidity of another person when in fact you have been the dumbest person on this board in a long time. Maybe ever. But, I’m honestly impressed so keep up the “good” work.

She’s 78 years old and owns NFL and NBA teams. I think she’ll be fine. I don’t think she’ll be on the streets eating dogfood anytime soon.

Even if she makes terrible real estate choices, she still owns an NFL and NBA franchise. That's a golden ticket. Also she doesn't have kids to pass them on to. So in reality her bad decisions will only affect whoever gets the estate after she dies. Which I think the Archdiocese of New Orleans is the benefactor.

LOL @ Pocket Watching Lady Gayle.

As long as we got Derek Carr of the roster, I don’t care any more.

New Orleans MSA falsley lowered because Northshore taken out after Covid. If you make all SELA. ( BR NOLA Northshore ). A region you have 2.5 million people

Every other MSA is measured by the same rules. People on the north shore aren’t driving to NOLA in high enough percentage to be included because the business and jobs don’t exist anymore in that shithole with 23% Class A occupancy.

As for adjacent markets like BR, every MSA can pull more population from an hour away and many can double the population as well.

It doesn’t change the fact we’re a bottom feeder city with at risk franchises. The 4% decline last year when other areas are growing is a real problem.

Off topic, and I just so happened to look to compare BR to Omaha earlier today, but I was amazed where NO and BR stand on MSA rankings. BR is closing the gap on NO and that is honestly sad because BR isn't exactly booming either.

It’s a dying state and region. When both teams are finally sold and move will be a death blow to the esteem of the few remaining people and business.

Lmfao without the nfl and other organizations forcing people to travel to New Orleans for games I don’t think no one willing going to New Orleans for vacation. Except if they like to drink beer and probably get their car window smashed
