Charles Robinson Twitter

Not sure how I feel considering the Drew we saw was still Drew freaking Brees.

Little #SeniorBowl scuttlebutt. Have heard for about a month now that #Saints coach Sean Payton is squarely in the camp of Baker Mayfield believers. That’s not going away.

Some added context on #Saints grooming next rookie QB. Brees is super competitive even in meetings and next kid has to keep up in 2018. The last rookie QB got steamrolled mentally and never recovered. Payton likes the wicked competitive streak Baker Mayfield brings to everything.

Where's Mayfield projected? I don't want to give up a lot of picks for that. Way too many needs.

We can get as high as 10. However, rumors are saying Denver will be taking him.

So he might be gone before we get our shot.

Top 10. I want him if he slips, but we don't need to trade anything.

"The Chiefs gave up 27th, 3rd and a 1st next season to move up 17 spots. The Saints can do the same."

I am going to oddly assume The Browns, Giants, Broncos, and Jets are taking QB's.

Unless Josh Allen goes before BM, he will be gone. I 100% believe those teams won't move the picks either.

Last time Payton was rumored to be hot for a QB, we took Lattimore a pick after he was taken. Here's hoping Atlanta takes Mayfield, leaving a stud LB or TE for us.

Giving up that much when you have Drew on the roster is stupid. If he falls to us fine, but we need to add pieces that can help us win now.

I'd be cool with Mayfield. The only thing I'm worried about is if we trade up in the 1st round to take him, & he ends up being a bust. It would probably take all of our picks this year to move up (maybe even some 2019 picks if we're talking about trading into the early teens).

The coaches better be damn sure about him to give up an entire draft to select him. That's about as bad of an outcome as possible...an entire draft class consisting of a bust at QB.

Scary proposition indeed. I remember when people gave the Failcons so much shite for the Julio trade.

Count me the frick out, good lord. For what it would take to get him he would have to be sooo good to meet the value we'd give up. At 27 I could maybe listen, but that ain't happening. Plus, he's a fricking douche. It'd be different if his personality didn't suck taint.

Say we had to move up like 15 spots...that would literally cost us every 2018 pick that we have (as far as value goes) & then some.

I know we would probably just use a 2019 1st or 2nd to do it, but I'm just pointing out how much it would cost to do it.

As far as just pure value...it would cost our entire draft to move up that high (actually even more than that).

The Chiefs gave up 27th, 3rd and a 1st next season to move up 17 spots.

If it was guaranteed that Mayfield was going to pan out...I'd do that trade all day. Giving up all that & drafting a bust is basically setting the franchise back a year or 2. I guarantee you that the Texans are more than happy with trading up for DeShaun Watson.

Personally, I wouldn't do it. I'd rather build up the roster.
