I'm not disagreeing but i will say that Polk is a bit more of a wildcard meaning that it's possible that he's everything we want in a WR3/4 type role. Physical, can play slot and versatile.

If you sign Etienne and draft one of the receivers at 8 this offense could be really dangerous next season

We can’t protect him from being hit his entire career. Hes either gonna last or he isn’t. They need to move him around alot more than they have.

He hasn’t done a damn thing his entire career lol. If he even makes the team you count that as a win

Here are the 35 Most Interesting Rumors I Heard at the 2026 NFL Combine:
1. Not surprisingly, the majority of conversations at the Combine revolved around quarterbacks. And the most interesting one I heard involved Derek Carr. Yes, the retired 34-year-old Derek Carr. From what I heard, the Saints expect him to un-retire and play in 2026. The Saints are very happy with Tyler Shough, so New Orleans expects Carr to un-retire and then they will trade him. To the New York Jets. For what it’s worth, Vincent Bonsignore, a beat reporter for the Raiders, says he heard the Vikings for Carr. Now, I did NOT hear that at all. I did heard a BUNCH of names for the Vikings (more on that below), but Derek Carr was not one of them. What I heard was that the Saints think Carr will un-retire and they will be able to trade him to the Jets. Shrug emoji.

his entire career meaning one rookie season where he saw some action. 2 Td's. Last season was an IR no show. i mean, he's got a lot to prove but acting like he's got 6 years of nothingness is a bit much.

Flacco went for the 6th->5th swap. I would hope we could at least do a 5 for a 4 minimum

You just can’t bypass free agency and the draft with the idea of seeing way Jaylen Polk has. If he’s actually something he should be able to compete with whoever we bring in and win a job

Sure. But I'm not seeing the huge urgent need to spend our 1st or 2nd on a WR. Tons of twitchy slot guys to choose from mid draft.

For a team to draft a player in the 2nd round and then throw him away for the toilet paper they wiped their arse with tells you all you need to know about the player. Him making the team would be a success story. Expecting much of him? Not at all.

so what is tate, would he be our z? Isn't vele our z? Isn't Olave our X? Why do i feel like even drafting tate, we're missing a true slot guy still?

Olave took about 40% of his snaps from the slot and Vele took 70% from the slot. Moore moves his receivers around to exploit mismatches and get defenses off balanced. We don’t need a tiny receiver that can only play inside. Payton did it too. He used to love putting Jimmy Graham in the slot.

spend $15-$16 on a 2nd OG and draft Love

Maybe, if he's available. Or, sign Etienne draft the kid from Arkansas in the third and get a premiere offensive lineman in draft.

Keep in mind that Love will get paid a pretty penny compared to average running back salary. If you get a premier OL pass rushers in draft, they are much cheaper than premier FA at that position

The Polk hate is crazy. He has 1 season, only 31 targets of production, and was a 2nd rd pick.

We have absolutely no clue what his ceiling could be. He could be a serviceable 4 but he can also end up our 2-3.

90% of the board didn't see 7th rd Vele ending up our WR2-3 but the same people are going to write off the 2nd rd pick with a higher ceiling?

If we draft a WR in the 2nd/ 3rd then we will have:

Olave
Vele
Polk
2nd/ 3rd
Tipton
Bub Means

Between Polk/ draft we should have WR3-WR4 covered.

Sign or draft a TE2 and our offense should be a lot better than last season.

Palmer maybe a good pickup but he needs time. Excellent KO and punt returner. Knock on him in draft was unrefined route runner and not knowing the full tree. 4.4 guy with good hands perhaps can learn if given time and reps.

If we add Goedert or one of the top TE's in the draft then we would have 5-6 weapons excluding RB. Add a good RB and we have a plethora of talent. Upgrading the OL will also make the WR's/ QB job easier.
