RB & TE are the only 2 positions that if we sign a higher end FA then we would not draft that position in the first 3 rounds

Your argument can stand for any other position though
WR-would mean we don't re-sign Olave
OL-Plenty of options to crosstrain to get the best 5, plus someone will inevitably get injured.
DT-Bresee is the lone guaranteed start
DE/Edge-Might be logjammed this year if we were to also re-sign Cam but then he's likely gone after, Granderson could also be trade candidate at some point or cut following year
LB-Davis for likely only 26, Stutsman hopefully takes a step up.
CB-Only doesn't make sense if we re-sign Alontae because that puts us with 3 young CBs with Kool-Aid & Riley. But even with all 3 we still do not have a true CB1 unless somebody flourishes this season
S-Sanker is the only one we can count on beyond 26. Blackmon is a 1yr deal and Reid underwhelmed last year

We can finally afford to be very active in FA and we need to be wise with it.

Personally I sign (2) Gs as my priority.
1) Fortner I don't let out of the building, he earned a bigger pay day but I also do not think it would be outlandish. 3yr/$20M with $15M guaranteed.
2) David Edwards would be great but I don't know if we will pay him the expected $20M/yr. So we may need to drop to the next tier that should likely be somewhere between $9M/yr-$16M/yr including Connor Mcgover, Alijah Vera-Tucker, Zion Johnson, Isaac Seumalo, Wyatt Teller, Ed Ingram

Man I would love some news to break that we’re close to a deal with one of the top FA guards. I’d so much rather spend any available cap space on our offensive line vs any other position group and I truly hope they aren’t counting on the draft to fix our problems at guard.

I’d be shocked if that isn’t one of the first moves we make. Like Underhill said, don’t even leave it to chance. Just go get a guy you know is a sure fire starter at guard. Even if you have to overpay a little.

Brown is unlikely to get traded. Roseman wants more in a trade than what he originally paid to get Brown. So more than a first and third lol. I think he’s worth a 2nd but no way I’d give a first.

Quay Walker looks like a possible Davis replacement.
