Dennis Allen is now gone...At this rate, I hope Mickey is on his way out with his public disagreement with Gayle. He may still be part of the will, but things change fast. Ask Rita.
As it stands, we are now 62.7mil after the Kamara extension & Lattimore trade.
Kamara's contract gives you 0 benefit trading, cutting, etc. unless its post-june 1. Accept it, he is here
Jordan: Remains the same. it is time to post june 1 cut/retire. 11mil savings, 9mil dead cap. 51.7mil to go
Ramczyk - retires. Post June 1 cut (11mil dead space, 18mil savings)
33.7mil to go
McCoy - restructures. Saves 4.9mil
28.8mil to go
Granderson - restructures. Saves 5.3mil
23.56mil to go
Ruiz - restructures. Saves 6.3mil
17.2mil to go
Williams - cut (2.3mil dead, 1.6mil saved)
15.6mil to go
Davis - restructures. Saves 5.6mil
10mil to go
Mathieu - restructures. Saves 4.5mil
5.5mil to go
Werner - restructures. Saves 2.5mil
3mil to go
Wilson - cut. saves 2.4mil with 1mil dead
634k to go
Lastly...restructure Carr (yes...booo mtfer boo). Frees up nearly 31mil
+30.3mil in cap space
Notable 2025 free agents from your side:
Paulson Adebo (CB2) - Likely be resigned
Juwan Johnson (TE2) - Likely let him walk, not worth it
Chase Young (DE2) - Same unless he's coming back for something like 2/20mil.
Tanoh Kpassagnon (DE3 - currently IR) - likely let walk
Lucas Patrick (LG) - Suspect we try to keep him as a backup
Will Harris (SS) - Likely gone
Willie Gay (OLB) - Likely gone
Payton Turner (DE4) - Likely gone
--- With those moves in 2026 you are also 57.9mil under the cap.

will keep Dennis Allen for another year
There really needs to be a ban bet thread started for everyone who truly believes Allen wont be fired.

Good thoughts. Thanks for posting.
It will take some time to do what's necessary for the long-term health of the frenchise. I say "frenchise" instead of "franchise" because the New Orleans Saints are quite unlike a normal traditionally successful NFL franchise AND we love our French heritage.

Why ban? It's not our decision if he coaches 7 more days or 7 more years.

You don't cut Cam Jordan. You get him to do the same thing as Ram. Put him on IR for the season so you can spread out his retirement over two seasons.

This was directed at the posters who seem 100% certain that Allen will be back no matter. There are some who seem to revel in the thought of him being back so they can shite on the organization more.

Don't let Mickey see this he will find a way to burn through that in just a few hours by signing some washed up has been or extending another one our current or close to being washed up has beens.

I hate to say it but it’s probably more likely he’ll be here next season than not

K Keep me posted. They've whiffed on the draft, especially at the top tier rounds

Guess Loomis needs him to reach a decade on the sideline of never making the playoffs to be convinced he’s not the next Belicheck.

Belicheck didn’t make the playoffs until after he had 31 career wins. Loomis just doesn’t want to do something drastic and needs to make sure DA has as many chances as needed to get to 31 wins before making that decision.
As fans, we’re just stuck looking at the results because we’re not as smart as Loomis

Sorry. I have zero confidence that our cap will greatly improve under the Loomis regime. The last 10 years are a prime indicator of the next 10.

Provided some updates to OP regarding the cap for 2025/2026.

2 nitpicky items:
If you cut/retire Cam & Ram before 6/01 you have to absorb the entire amount of money at the time of the transaction. Then on 6/01, you get the relief. Your final number of +30.3M in cap space would actually be about $2M in cap space when they are cut/retired; not sure if you planed it this way but all of your other transactions saved $62.7M
They are currently 57.9M under the cap in 2026. When you elect those post 6/01 cuts, the savings occurs because you pushed a portion of that money into the next year's cap. In the case of Cam & Ram you just added $18M in dead money to 2026, so that figure is now $39.8M.
You also restructured 7 contracts. Part of those restructures means you are spreading current (2025) cap money into future years. A simplified version is reducing salary to vet min, then bonusing the rest over 5 years (2025 - 2029). At a minimum, it looks like you are adding $12M to 2026's cap (based on quick calculations from your OP), so now you are down to $27.8M.
That number will then be reduced through 2025 free agency, and 2025 rookie class. To put in perspective, the 2024 rookie class will count $10M against the 2025 cap, that 2026 cap is now down to ~$15M.
Still will be the cleanest unless Loomis goes full retard in free agency, but I am not expecting most of those moves to happen, or a clean cap until 2027 at the earliest.
