Falcons had their choice of the top two edge rushers, or an absolute stud receiver or even a generational te on the board and chose a qb that is unlikely to start until he hits his late 20’s. After just signing a qb to an enormous amount of guaranteed money.

And how do Panthers fans feel watching the Bears draft a better qb with their pick and then have the draft experts say how it will help him to have your former play making receiver DJ Moore already on the roster and add another stud receiver in the draft to help him when you have arena league players at the skill position.

Panthers fans and Falcons must want to vomit tonight….

We made a solid pick tonight but sadly our front office isn’t much better….

Both were head scratchers. Atlanta's pick was just idiotic. For Carolina, that whole jump into the first round for a 5th year option is nonsense. Carolina needs players, and they threw away a draft pick because they would have gotten their guy anyway. In my mind, both didn't make any sense.

Panthers got maybe the best receiver in the draft.

Wouldn’t be shocked if he has a better career than anyone else in that first round.

Panther selecting young and giving away their draft had to make them puke. The only comfort should be Williams will be a drama queen bust.

The falcons might have made a even dumber move getting Penix

You can't say that on this board. 2 LSU wrs were picked and are the best receivers ever and will have a better career than everyone

Is Leggete your cousin? He’s not the best receiver in THIS draft.

I mean he was the 7th wr taken tonight. Sure, he could be the best, but that kind of hot take should be ridiculed

Worst of all, the Failclowns didn't even take the best QB still on the board.

Can’t be considered the best player at his position when the Commish stumbles while pronouncing his last name which was not as difficult as some of the OL and DL drafted earlier.

I was shocked by this pick from the Falcons! Cousins was just signed and he's a proven QB in the NFL....so I figured, they were doing this to make a trade down the road.
Dumb-assed move if you ask me....but I guess that's why I'm selling drugs out of my family-owned pharmacy and not employed by an NFL team.

Cousins is 35 coming off an Achilles injury. I don't have a problem with the pick.

Sure if cousins were already on contract. They signed a 35-year-old coming off injury, so I don't get the combo of signing and pick. Seems if you were going qb, use cousins money on oline or weapons

Why give him 100 million guaranteed then? He’s there atleast 2-3 years. Penix will be 27 by then.

Atlanta has the best qb, running back and te in the division by far. If they would have taken Rome, they’d have the best receivers. They could have had one of the highest powered offenses in the league and easily taken control of the division the next three years. Missed opportunity for sure by them.

He has potential but no way he will be better than the top 3. Maybe Brian Thomas but I doubt it.

It was the dumbest pick I've seen in my entire life. So happy.

I’m a big Penix fan so I don’t think the falcons made a terrible pick. If you like a qb and he’s on the board and your starting QB isn’t a potential probowler, take the QB.

My question is when did they know they really like Penix? Surely it was before they gave cousins that contract?

I will say Cousins with Robinson, London, Odunze, and Pitts is something I’m glad we aren’t dealing with in 2024

He has a agent that can get him money. Minnesota surely paid him, and so will Atlanta. Is he worth it? Of course not. Cousins can't win past 1pm EST (meaning big games) Apparently the Falcons think so, and they want to win now. Ask yourself this question. Is Derek Carr worth all that cash?
