End of year scenarios

End of year lull at the office, so had time to look at Playoffs or draft picks scenarios. Right now Saints can still win NFCS or finish for the 6th or 7th WC spot if the win out and get some help. Or they could be drafting between picks 5-15 if they lose out.

I am sure I am missing something, but figured I'd throw this out there as I am sure others are curious as well.

Playoffs:
Saints win out & TB loses to Carolina in week 18 = South

Saints win out & 3 of the 4 happen for WC:
GB lose to Minny and/or Chi
Minny lose to GB and/or Det
LAR lose to NYG (17) & SF (18)
Sea lose to Pitt (17) & Az (18)

Currently a 6 team tie for picks 10-15. If Saints lose out, they’ll be picking between 5-15; picks 1-4 are out of reach. Too many scenarios to figure out tie breakers.

Need Den, GB, LV & Minn to win 1 game to eliminate tie. If Chi & NYJ win 1 they’ll be tied at 7, win 2 they eliminate ties. Need LAC, NYG & Tenn to win out to all be tied at 7

Den need to beat LV (week 18)
GB needs to beat Minny (17)
LV needs to beat Indy (17)
Minny needs to beat Det (18)
Chi needs to beat Atl (17) & GB (18) – lose 1 for tie
NYJ needs to beat Clev (17) & NE (18) – lose 1 for tie
LAC needs to beat Den (17) & KC (18)
NYG needs to beat LAR (17) & Phi (18)
Tenn needs to beat Hou (17) & Jax (18)

If the Saints win the last 2 and miss the playoffs I’m done with them forever

Would be the stupidest thing ever, and I sorta expect it to happen

I fully expect this to happen.

As I said a few weeks ago, the saints can't even be terrible correctly

I am not Ross Jackson, and I have no idea who Ross Jackson is. The fact that you just watched that leads me to believe I did not miss something

I'm paid for the work the rest of the year , now it's about baby-sitting end of year inventory counts and downloading various reports from the ERP systems to prep for year-end closing. New and improved software is so wonderful that it does not allow me to work in any other Office products (except outlook) while it downloads data to a spreadsheet

I expect a split, beat TB and have a glimmer of hope for a playoff spot. League juggles all games that could affect NFCS & final 2 WC spots to 12pm slot; Saints have a late 2nd half surge to get the score within 8.

I think the Rams loss demoralizes them. They lose easily to both falcons and bucs. The hope is two bad losses to division foes helps Mickey fire DA.

I just don’t see a scenario where Tampa Bay doesn’t beat our arse. They’ve looked solid for a month. Bested the Falcons on the road and then had back to back dominating performances against the Packers and Jags.

Atlanta is the true wild card. I’d like to say they’d win but Arthur Smith is the offensive equivalent to Dennis Allen

The Saints finish with a winning record and you're down with them?

Picking 5 would be nice! We can find some hurt unknown OL player in D 2 and proclaim his Hall of Fame potential ability.

Picking 5-7 would not be bad at all.

This is mighty fine work, Weekend Warrior.

I’m not sure we deserve you.

You really gonna act like that would be an achievement with the schedule we had?

This is my exact expectation. We beat the Bucs next week, they look weak, and then beat Atlanta barely (they secure a top 10 pick), while the Panthers blow a 21 point lead or something to the Bucs to give us pick like 17 and no playoffs. DA job saved, Saitns pick the 8th best OT at 17

So you’re done with them forever if Tampa beats Carolina as expected, but if we tank a loss you’re fine.

Tampa will have won the South 3 years running and have beaten the Saints last 3 times played. Only a Saints homer would argue we’re better right now.

That’s a lot of stuff. Personally I’m rooting for the Saints to end up with a top 8 pick, so maybe they will have a shot at Jayden Daniels, or at least trading up for him.
