Other than our eyes and Drew telling someone. I wonder just how much Drew has lost in arm strength. Looking at all the greats they all at sometime lose something. Montana never had a big are but at the end you could tell he lost something. And we can all see something different in Drew the last two years.

But, Drew can still play. His body doesn't seem to be aging like QBs of the past. Yes maybe he can't throw to Ginn (who is still very fast) 50 yards on a go route down field but Drew is still better than most QBs in the league. I will be very surprised if he retires in less than 4 years. I think he has more in the tank.

His arm zip has dropped drastically

Go back and watch some 09 or 11 highlights

Drew used to be an animal

Drew has aged well only because as he lost zip he has perfected accuracy

He almost always puts the ball in the right spot. Sean adapted with him and everything is about reads and timing now vs mismatches and other stuff

He obviously can't throw the deep ball like he used too ,but he is smart enough to pick his spots.

He also missed Ginn later on when he ran a post. The one where Ginn dropped it he had the DB pull on him which probably would have been a fricking flag on us. But Ginn has to make that catch hit him in the hands.

I think there’s been a drop off, but not nearly as much as some people make it out to be.

All this.

Plus, it’s tough to beat savvy. Drew wins games with his head now as much as his arm.

Yes, as he gets older his arm strength will decline.

Unless he is Rodger Clemons.

You can see Drew’s arm strength in his passes over the middle to Cook today. He zipped them on a frozen rope - which is perfect. You can’t throw floaters over the middle or they get picked and your WRs get killed.

Drew puts a little more air under it on corner routs to allow WRs to run under and make a play.

I thought he looked good today.

Yeah on the final drive. Ginn was going vertically right to left with his post route. That throw should have been thrown leading Ginn directly to the goal post instead the ball ended up behind Ginn & behind the safety who was trailing.

Which NFL quarterback from 09 is still zipping the ball with the same strength?

It was but OPs point was about consistency down to down

Drew in that prime window I outlined if you gave him great looks would make you pay every single time

Drew used to make you pay if you had a 2-5 second lapse on D beyond the markers

Now he needs you to completely fail beyond 20 yards and be out of the play to test you

Lol. Dude. Once you hit 40 you can drop off fast. You take it 1 year at a a time. Any year could be his last.

Drew has about 5 throws today alone that showed his declined arm strength. He’s in his own head now when it comes to a deep ball.

He did put one to Ginn on a dime, but that’s where our lack of a WR outside of Thomas reared it’s ugly head againn

Drew is still deadly accurate within 25 yards. He’s one of, and even arguably the greatest QB of all time, but there is no denying our offense is limited, and the back 3/4 of the field are out of range based on his arm strength before the ball is snapped.

I love Drew, every Saints fan does, but I’ve said it a few times now we better enjoy him this year because it might be his last. Even deadly accurate short to mid range, which a lot of QBs cannot do, it’s hard to justify paying a QB $25M+ when the field is shortened by him
