Hate to say it, but Drew is not the same. Something is missing! Appears that the wind is missing from his sail.
After 2 games, it is apparent that he cannot throw the long ball and even the short stuff is off. Plus the receivers are missing some of the good passes he throws every now and then. Sanders wasn't very good last night. Ty Montgomery missed an easy catch...Just not the same!
My question is at what point do you pull the trigger and replace a legend? How many games do you have to lose to face reality that Brees has become a liability instead of an asset? Just keeping it real.

The problem is he’s still better than most inside 20 yards, and that’s where we live. So he’ll fair well against bottom tier defenses and we’ll play enough to have good stats and keep a decent record to get into playoffs. And just like the last few years that playoff D will neutralize Drew. Our fault is we have a good enough team that could win some games with almost any QB you put back there, and that causes a problem because it is masking issues giving us a false sense of security since we can still win some games without addressing issues

Drew is through and should have retired after last season.

Hot Take, huh? I know. But Drew Brees didn't know.

Yep, now it's just happening faster this year. Imagine down the road, he won't be able to throw the ball 10 yards!

I don’t follow the Saints all that closely because I’m in a different market, but Michael Thomas was out last night. He’s like one of the best overall players in the NFL so there is that. Even if drew is now a little cuck bitch, Thomas being out was a factor.

Damn right....the most glaring problem it has caused is that the Saints still don't have a fricking clue who the QB1 will be after Brees.

I watched the first quarter and turned the game off.

He doesn't trust anyone but MT, Cook and Kamara. The offensive line didn't protect as good as it should. You could see the Raiders figured out the defense early.

Brees can still play but this isn't 2009 Brees. I'm pretty sure he will be replaced before the end of the year. I don't watch as much football as I used to.

They'll look better vs GB.

Drew was through when he cried in front of the team and put the name of a rapist on his helmet

This. Everyone knows Brees is declining, but that doesn't mean he's a shot fighter. We can still win with him - the narratives are spinning out of control right now.

O-line was very good in all phases. Drew was hardly pressured or touched. RBs had holes. You can't blame them for that shitshow on offense.

I mean, it’s starts with the penalties and lack of possessions (raiders controlling TOP), then it goes to timing issues and lack of quality receiving depth.

After that, Brees being hesitant in the pocket definitely has an impact.

Well if you cant score and continue to give the ball back.

Someone said its because Thomas was out. Thst just proves the decline more. At one point Dtew made the most avg recievers into stars.

I appreciate everything Drew has done for the team. He has done things that as Saints fans we couldn't imagine but at this point he will be a hindrance.

As far as his hesitation, seems like that's because he needs a more open perfect area to throw to because his arm is gone

Well no shite. He is a 41 year old QB. Our expectations have to be different and the offense can't rely entirely on him anymore. He can still win with this team but the defense needs to play much better and we need MT back. Sanders was brought in to help and not make MT our only weapon at WR, but I'm not sure that is going to work out.

Well I'll tell you now,it won't happen. When/if this team loses to GB its time to put Winston in because there isn't going to be any way for Brees to salvage the season.

The players don't respect him. Put Uncle Tom in the game. He might throw picks but at least he will open the offense up.

It's called Karma. Brees dug his own grave when he threw veterans under the bus. Now he is the laughing stock of the league.

I mean when was he targeted?? LOL shite, when he was with SF last year Garropolo always found him down the field, since he's been with the Saints now in 2 games he's hardly been thrown to, ridiculous. Lol
