re: Drew Brees legacy ?

He's still going to be a first ballot hall-of-famer with a legacy of torching many, many NFL records though his career.
This moment in time is fleeting and when he's lighting up opposing defenses nobody's going to be thinking about his gaff earlier in the year.

Don't you have a pig to f@ck?

Took at wrong turn at the very end....

Drew Brees legacy ?

People will remember him for something.
You’re fade away as quick as a fart.

He’ll be remembered as a first ballot HOF’er, super bowl champion, the biggest leader in bringing the saints back from katrina,a great humanitarian to the city of new orleans whose donations are greater than any other player...and a great human being.
This little blm thing that pissed off a small minority of the fans will be a minor speed bump on an incredible career and legacy. And thats how he should be remembered. Embrace him, he is the savior of the saints and the city. If there is a statue that should be built, its for him

If he goes out without a playoff run yea I think his legacy is tarnished. He was really only pumped up by NO fans (deservedly so, I think he’s the best of all time). But now that a lot of that has been lost, then nobody will be left to talk about how he was maybe the best QB ever but external factors always kept him from proving it

I think it’s funny that Drew Brees says something that was a little insensitive at the time, gets called out by fans and teammates, apologizes for the timing of his remarks, vows to be a better person in life, gets supported by teammates, and a small contingent are now trying to tarnish his legacy. All because he said he wanted to be a better person. It’s kind of crazy that it played out that way.

Oh, I thought this was about football...
Unless Drew has been out molesting babies, I could care less what his political or social beliefs are. Everything I have learned about Brees tells me he is a hard worker, a great father & husband and a man who cares about his community. I really hope a lot of kids aspire to be like him !!
If you have younger kids and they never got to see Drew play, How would you describe him to them ??? Would you leave out that you think he is a coward because he stood with his friends, teammates, and community? You are probably gonna spin it and say he was disrespecting his country, right? He turned on his flag and country? I think Drew understands that this IS NOT about the flag. Do you??

Drew is a hero and his legacy is only just beginning . And I think he will devote the rest of his life to fostering a queer-affirming network. When the Saints gather, he will ensure they do so with the intention of freeing themselves from the tight grip of heteronormative thinking, or rather, the belief that all in the world are heterosexual (unless s/he or they disclose otherwise). That’s just the one in a million leader Drew Brees is .
He’s a Christian first from what he’s shared with us, and this is a bad attempt at a joke. For all that believe in Christianity, it’s God before country. Even with all these bandwagon low blows Brees’s legacy will be just fine.

Why would they?
Besides he is trashed here enough by cowgirl fanboys and Saint haters.

It’s because Drew was our leader. He was supposed to stand up to the bullies and fight for us. It’s tremendously disappointing when your leader backs down unnecessarily and leaves you out in the cold.

I love Drew and think he will do a lot to make space for our transgender brothers and sisters to participate and lead. But because he’s white, I can’t support a statue and would favor tearing it down forcefully even if we have to crack the heads of the pigs as an expression of love and hope.
