Great talk, but let's see what kind of deal he asks for and gets. Chances are it will tie up the team's cap long term and prevent them from staying strong after he retires.

If there was every a year to push all the chips in, it's this year. To send Drew out on top would be amazing, given we all know this is his last ride (even if he hasn't explicitly said so, we all know it).

New CBA and follow-on TV deal will expand cap space in future years, plus the fanbase will be more forgiving to being aggressive with spending money to get players to win now, even if it on paper hurts us a bit in the following seasons.

Hope Mickey spends like a drunken sailor in FA.
