Too many good corners sounds like a great dilemma to have

I can see us probably starting Lewis and Nnamdi (if the deal gets done) Greer and P rob rotate at nickel and dime depending on the matchup. If we get Nnamdi i hope we can draft TM7 in the 3rd round, and play him at FS. So the year after we can have TM7 and Corey White as our safeties.

I will never understand how a proven player is only worth a draft choice that will likely be a bench rider.

man, I don't know if Greer would a starter IF anything were to come form this visit.

I have my doubts about Nnamdi too. I mean don't get me wrong, IF the Saints signed him I'd be glad but at some point you'd have to wonder where the hell the money will come from. I think Loomis has done a good job over the years being able to swing deals in free agency. As far as drafting goes... well... no.

Cutting Greer saves only $1.45 mil now and another $1.325 June 1st if he is designated a June 1st cut.

Cutting Robinson would actually lose us $646,834(and we'd still take a loss after June 1st). In other words he is uncuttable.

Cutting Jenkins saves $2.5 mil now and another $50,000 June 1st if he is designated a June 1st cut.

Cutting Harper saves only $1 mil now and another $1.75 June 1st if he is designated a June 1st cut.

Not sure we'd have to cut anyone to get Nnamdi or even if it would be from the secondary, but Jenkins job isn't looking too safe.

I'm pretty shocked to hear this news, but maybe Ryan is helping to push this along. If he comes in close to Lewis' numbers at least for the first year we can afford him no problem.

I thought they'd make a harder push for an OLB but maybe they really only wanted Kruger and are going to address OLB in the draft.

Ehh I guess you're right. I think we'll keep Greer but all of our other corners not named Lewis is expandable

None of the other ones outside of Greer are worth the price of cutting.

Also, I chuckled when someone said 4 elite corners. None of these guys are elite.

Nnamdi was once and Greer has been a rock when not injured and definitely underrated, but certainly not elite. Lewis had one good year in a proven defensive system with some great defensive talent around him so what he really is remains to be seen. PRob will NEVER be elite. Good nickel guy and serviceable starter.

I knew I was right when I posted a seven on the 1-10 scale in being confident that we would bring Nnamdi in.

It's a good gut feeling. I'm praying that we get this done. Defense would have a very good head start on the year with him in the backfield. With him, we would have enough talent on the D to win, it would be just a matter of the defensive unit gelling together.

Please let this happen god, your saints need you!!!

we hit some home runs off of a slider breaking outside (Colston-7,Evans-4,Nicks-5,Bushrod-6,Strief-7,), and popped up to second baseman with a fastball down the middle of the plate(Ellis-1,Meach-1,Usama Young-3,Sullivan-1,Johnny Patrick-3,Bullocks-2.)

Young and Patrick are in there since they were high third round picks.

Am I misunderstanding your post? Are you calling PRob proven? If so, I think you are very wrong. You could argue he is disproven.

I think P Rob gets a lot of flack on here for dropping ints. He is a good man corner, but can't play zone. 4 years 3 DCs doesn't help with the terrible pass rush the saints have had.

My dream would be sign nnamdi, cut jenkins, drop back a little bit in the first to pick up a 2nd rounder:

1) Kenny Vaccaro
2) Jamie Collins
3) Brandon Williams
4) Travis Kelce

Maybe somehow squeeze Victor Butler in there

But that isn't at all realistic.
