Do we have any players that can used as draft bait?

Peat is an obvious possibility that we could in theory.

Klein?
Crawley?
Ted Ginn? (Value is probably gone now)

It’s like you intentionally included players with no value

There's certainly value in each of those players. May take the right team and fit but they all have value. I'm not saying they are worth a ton of value... whether it be to take our 4th round pick and move up the draft 20 picks or what. (except peat)

You could probably get a late round pick for Klein at the most. If we're talking about acquiring a 1st, maybe Armstead packaged with picks from next year. Teams might want a little extra value considering his injury history.

TA: 10.4 in dead cap, would gain 5.4 in cap space this year, 16 next year...

looks great on paper for cap but would leave such a void on the roster. don't think its realistic much and the lack of value from his injury history makes it more unlikely imo.

Why does everyone want to get rid of our pro-bowl guard when we are already thin on the Oline which is the most important part of our offence?

How would trading Armstead or Peat improve the team. You just create a hole that needs to be filled.

Peat is not only the starting LG but backup LT. We currently don't have a viable third tackle imo. I'm not an Ola fan. Trading Peat would leave us seriously vulnerable.

Armstead is an injury issue but the dude balled out in the playoffs. One of my favorite Saints.

Guys with trade value? There really aren't many. And the ones with value (T. Hill, Kamara, Latt, Bell, Williams, Anzalone, etc.), there's no way we'd trade them.

Realistically, these guys may have some minimal value:

- Ginn (but not worth trading- he balled out once he came back and still looks like he has speed)
- Hendrickson - could maybe get a 6th or 7th for him...maybe but why?
- Klein - I don't think any team would take on his contract

It's weird. This is a deep roster but few "extras" to trade.

Well for one, no one is giving anything of substance in return for Armstead with his cap hit, considering he's played 46% of the team's snaps the last 3 seasons.

Secondly, Peat has a year left on his deal. He's a year rental, he is not worth trading given what the return would be.

A peat trade would likely involved an extension agreement. Team would know what they in for

We can't afford to lose offensive linemen right now. We need to get into camp and see what we've got. Consistency on the line is my biggest worry.

Looking at the depth chart there isn't much we could afford to lose.

If someone wants Carr for a 6th or 7th I'd jump on that. He isn't a Ginn replacement and both Smith and Kirkwood passed him up. Meredith is likely in front of him too.

You could trade Tom or Clapp for a 6th or 7th, but that leaves us with one legit interior reserve on the Oline.

You could trade Klein (doubtful with his salary) or Robertson, but that leaves you with only 3 legits LBs (and Robertson is cheap and versatile so it wouldn't make sense).

Every other position you don't have the depth to give up before the draft. Maybe during the draft of you're trading up for that position but that's doubtful.

So really just Carr and it's far fetched we could even get a 7th for him.

For those players? No thanks, we are all stocked up on 6/7th round picks

I don’t think Carr has any trade value

The value is in draft trades these days is getting vets in exchange for simply pick swaps where you move back 15 spots in the 6th round or drop back two rounds. The Patriots are cleaning up doing this. I assume the rest of the league will catch on at some point and stop letting them. Then you let the vet walk in FA if need be and get a comp pick.

Just curious, if you were a GM and traded for one of those players, what would you offer for them?

Did you watch any of the games that Ginn has played in as a Saint? You happen to catch the last drive of the NFCC?

Why would you trade him for a 5th/6th rounder? Your obsession with trading this cheap and valuable veteran WR at a position where we have no vets is off and dumb.

But I've been told by that one guy on here that Brees can't throw further than 5 yards anymore, so doesn't that make Ginn expendable?

Our best tradable assets are our key players. The ones we will need for another playoff run.

everything else any one can mention moving falls into the category of worth more to us than their trade market.

Better question is what someone else already mentioned. What affordable vets might be on the market for late round picks that may be of use to the Saints?
