Did this many people complain about Pete Carmichael in 2012?

Sean was banned from any contact with the team for the entire year. Yet our offense finished 2nd in the league and 3rd in scoring.
Maybe having a good qb matters? Or Dennis Allen is worse than Aaron Kromer? Which is possible.

Brees knew that offense and could make audibles. It's clear when Payton left he took his playbook with him.

Probably helped they had an elite QB who had been in the system for about 5 years. You can upgrade QB, but that's hard to replicate. We probably need to upgrade QB and OC.

We had veteran HOF QB. Guys like Brees (Manning, Brady, Rodgers, etc.) know enough to make an offense work still

I think most the issues on the offense this year were bc of injuries.

Running 6 screens all year when you have Kamara is criminal

I do agree more screens should be called

So this is like a ‘Waterboy’ situation. PC is lost without Sean’s playbook huh lol.

The offense was “great” that year because our defense was historically awful, causing us to throw more to get back in games. All that there was to the offense being “better” than other years

People don't realize carmichael has the same playbook.
It matters when and what plays you call.
Screens and delays. Payton was so good at calling that te screen at least once a game.
I've seen enough of pete.

I do remember people complaining about him back them.

Also have to factor in the importance of using motion in the offense. You cannot watch a game without the commentor telling us how the QB uses motion to help distinguish the type of coverage; yet someone threw out a stat during the bye week about how infrequently the Saints use motion within the offense.

Pete leading any offensive meeting.

You could always see the genius in Payton’s offense and play calling. His time with Romo, the giants, then with brees and the saints. But he really showed how special he was when Brees went down. Bridgewater came in and he adapted quickly and the offense was still highly efficient. Payton was always good at putting players in positions that fit their strengths. Carmichael was just a puppet. He showed that this year with Zero adjustments as the year went on. They have the biggest mismatch in space wkth Kamara and he literally didn’t know how to do it. Kamara went from catching probably 5-7 passes a game to maybe 2-4 tops. When that should have increased. You could literally predict his play calling as a fan. How he is still even employed is an embarrassment to us as an organization right now.

Everyone knows it was Drew Brees running the offense that year. Carmichael just had the headset and a clipboard.

100% agree. One of the reasons I was for getting Carr when there was talk of the Raiders getting rid of him two years ago. He is good at what SP likes to run. Think he would definitely see the best of his career if he played under him. Now, I’m not to sure.
