Did Drew make Sean, or did Sean make Drew?

Russell Wilson’s success has me wondering why Sean wasn’t able to get this from him.

Perhaps Drew was most of it all along?

I agree. Drew was left to leave by another team. I think one of the biggest determinations in succeed/fail in the nfl for qbs is what coach they get to work with.

I think it is both drew had the understanding and ability Sean was able to connect with Drew together it was their offense

Why do people think it’s one or the other? No coach wins with scrubs and it’s hard to over come bad coaching on talent alone. Payton is doing a pretty good job so far with Bo Nix who many on this board, including some that crushed pro scouts for “misses” predicted would be a bust.

Drew wasn't the same drew in SD.

They fed off eachother to be honest.

Two things can be true at the same time.

There was a symbiosis. Drew is a humble human, and RW is not.

I say they made eachother better. Sean could relay those 3 minutes play calls and Brees could break them down to the offense. But then Drew could diagnose the defense and was able to audible to different plays or know which player would be his best option. I remember when Brees told Devery if the safety does this you'll be wide open for the TD and he was. I think it was a TD record.

Sean's star is rising bigly. I have a love hate relationship with him still. I loved seeing them nosedive last season and thought he was an idiot for drafting Nix so high. I resented all his dumb shite like opening his first ever Broncos game with a surprise onside kick. What a douche. They lost that game to the Raiders by a FG which was from the opening onside kick.

Now that Nix looks like a 6-4 Drew Brees without a poo birthmark I'm like "frick yah - let's ride" and consider CSP a top 10 coach of all time. This team he's built in only 1.5 seasons looks like it will be the team that interrupts or maybe even ends the Chiefs dynasty

Because with a true great like Tom Brady it WAS one (TB12) and not the other (Belichick)

Nope, it was both Brady did not beat the Rams in SB XXXVI the defense did. Defense for this first 3 titles was legit dominant, even the 2nd Rams SB which they won 13-3 was the defense and that was all Belichick. A great player can win one maybe with an avg coach, to have a dynasty that wins 6, that takes a lot more than one player. And spare me the BB record w/out Brady, no coach wins with scrubs

Sean Payton went 17-5 with Taysom, Winston, and Teddy Bridgewater over various periods from 2018-2021

Brees led the league in multiple categories, made Pro Bowls, All Pros and got OPoY votes. Three top 10 scoring offenses

He was a pro-bowler in SD in 2004 and in 2005 he had an104 passer rating and had a 27/7 TD/Int ratio when he got hurt. He was outstanding in SD.

It was both of them. I think you’ll see Nix continue to develop in Denver.
