This isn't really a devil's advocate argument, it's just stupid.
Idiots use devil's advocate for their ridiculous thought. I usually ignore it.

Turning a 4 game win streak into a 5 game win streak to end the season against our rival team on the road would be huge for this team and for Shough

No. Give Shough a chance to end the season on a 5 game winning streak and win ROTY.
Also consider it’s a good selling point for Free Agents to join a hot team, with a solid, young QB.

You’re not wrong. But intentionally losing or not playing healthy players would be a pretty bad thing to do.

Hell neaux.
Rivalry game, and he still needs reps.

What I'm insinuating here is that I've seen enough. He's great. He's the future. Sitting him is actually the ultimate compliment.
He also was injury prone in college and we are playing against a division rival that we can't trust to play clean. I think the momentum has been established whether he plays or not. I would hate for an injury in a meaningless game to knock him out of camp, games or the season. (They play on artificial turf-lot of non contact injuries can happen).

You never know year over year who will be bad, but the difference between 3rd and 4th place could be huge next year.
We play the NFC West and AFC west at home and NFC east on the road.
I’d rather play the Cardinals than the 49ers or Rams. I’d rather play the Raiders than the Chiefs. Giants or Commanders on the road may be no different, but we’re usually better in East Rutherford than Landover.

You do something stupid like that and you lose the whole team. Moore has the whole team motivated and buying into him and Shough. You have to keep that momentum going to keep returning players bought in. You should never be ok with losing and that should be the mentality. This isn’t madden. Involves real people with real emotions

I don’t think it’s a terrible debate. I’d definitely play him the 1st half and then consider resting him.
Posted on 12/28/25 at 3:52 pm to 3PieceSpicy
No. So what if he breaks a bone, we don’t have another game for 8 months. Play him, if we win…..cool. If we lose, that’s awesome too (draft position). That’s what’s been so great about these last few weeks. I don’t even stress when we get behind because win/lose both good

Saints can still finish in 2nd place in the division with a win over the Falcons & a Panthers win over Tampa

Didn’t realize that. Even worse.
So in that scenario we get the Chargers, a very good team from the NFC West and travel to the Cowboys.

I want him to avenge a very poor game against a division rival

I knew I would get downvoted into oblivion, but I think it's a reasonable discussion. A lot of teams sit their franchise QB's when playoff seeding or the season is over. We could also get more clarity on if we really want to commit to Rattler as the long term backup. You try to win, but if Ratt stinks up the joint, we get to pick 2-3 slots higher each round, plus have a 4th place schedule next year
