agreed. he may be utilized in certain situations, maybe even some goaline work. who knows? let's wait and see as more details on the signing pan out. very curious on this one.

Maybe. But if needed, I'd prefer to have one that could make it to the huddle from the sidelines without the aid of the training staff.

If the crowd needs extra incentive to blow the roof off for this fricking game then shame on them.

This is a bad idea IMO.

even if he doesn't touch the ball but a couple of times, if he helps keep brees clean... it gives us a better chance

I don't see what every one is freaking out about. Put Deuce in on goal line situations, save P Thomas from getting hurt worse. He's bigger than any other RB we have and if he scores the Dome will go nuts.

It's the fricking playoffs. You can't afford to save anything. I want PT or Bell in on goal line.

He should still be able to pass block and catch passes in the flats. Maybe this is really a test to see if he can help vs. Dallas since a big part of the problem against the Cowboys was RB's screwing up the help pass blocks. Bushrod definitely needs help against speed rushers. Payton must have something in mind or he'd be a running game coordinator instead of active roster.

I doubt Deuce is going to be activated.

This is honorary. I have no problem with it.

It is classy.

C'mon man, you're smarter than this. Do you really think payton/loomis are going to compromise the roster just to resign him? really? All we know is he is resigned. It's not like they replaced a starter with him. C'mon man.... How the frick do you know if it's a bad idea? You on the coaching staff?

Any chance PT is more injured than reported? I really hope not.

irrelevant, because he can still move. I understand your sarcastic over-exaggeration, but it's not accurate. If he sees the field, I'm sure it'll be in specific situations, and most probably as a FB as Paeyton has allegedly suggested.

Regardless, it's about making a move to give a player who has meant so much to this team, organization, city, State and Region an opportunity to go out as a Superbowl Champion on a team that he has given and done so much for.

This is a classy move, and I can give a shite less about a scrub who would never touch the grass in his entire career

You idiots saying he could help this team on the field.................get your head out of your assseeeessssssssssss,he has not practiced with the team, worked out with the team(this would have been all over the news)This is strictly a feel good thing for him and the fans. They may even introduce him before the game.Certainly will not affect the final score.
