Baker will get more money than Carr this offseason. Carr is way better than Dalton. You need to compare Carr’s contract to people like Baker (after his one year prove it contract), Dak, Cousins, Hurts and Russel Wilson. Hell, how does it compare to Daniel Jones?

Which GM is giving Baker Mayfield more than 4 for $150 mil? That’s career suicide for anyone other than Mickey Loomis

Yeah don't see it. But he could get a two year 50 mil.
Hell teams are desperate for qbs who knows but Baker did make himself a lot of money after last year.

Why?

I said just rotate the next 1-year rehab up until we're ready to do something or draft a guy.

Negligible difference than paying Carr $35M/year

Right. He’ll get a geno smith/jimny g type deal. 2-3 years, $20-25 mil per. Dude ain’t getting a 9 figure deal

Carr also wasn't helped by having Carmichael as an OC.

Baker is about to get paid.

Carr’s 4th year can be voided, its a 3 for 100$ deal.

So $33.33 mill per year.

His contract is in the teens as far as qb’s go.

You fricks are dumb.

Top QBs are making $55 million a year these days.

Ya’ll are fricking dumb. Youre like 10 years behind I swear. Carr’s current deal was considered high paid in 2017.

Every top 10 team in scoring offense made the playoffs except the Saints. It’s like y’all didn’t even watch how we got points

Just peak under the hood

15th in pass yards
21st in yards per attempt
20th in pass TD%
18th in Red Zone TD%

9 wins vs teams w/ a combined 52-101 record
No playoffs playing n the worst division in sports

You can see why Mickey and co. feel like they can pull the wool over the eyes of this dumb arse fan base.

I don’t know how there are still people out there supporting this shite

ONLY if we don't restructure it this offseason.

Those guys can give you title shots. Carr can't. He's mediocre.

If our ceiling is mediocre, why are we paying for a QB like Carr when every year there are similar options for much cheaper?

Especially while we have to rebuild our cap to give us a shot at competing one day in the future

Little Carr puppets calling people dumb

What ya need to understand is, the big money QBs - Burrow, Lamar, Hurts, Allen, Mahomes, Dak - have a history of winning on their resume, and consequently were locked up to big deals by their original team. The Kylers, Herbert’s, Daniel Jones’s are young, top picks extended by their original teams. Stafford and Rodgers are Super Bowl winning, legacy HOFers

Our FO did their due diligence and identified Carr as its next QB, went out and overpaid him relative to winning and production. The only leg up you have on acquisitions like Russ Wilson and Deshaun Watson is you didn’t have to dole out any picks or players get him

You are “fricking dumb” like the rest of the Carr defenders. You lack nuance with both his statistics and contract. Hurrrr hurr Joey Burrow is making $55 mil a year, that makes it ok for Carr to be overpaid. Dumbfrick

Just you wait. He's going to bring up how we're 12th in dead cap while ignoring that the argument it based in our team perpetually being towards the top in dead cap (limiting our ability to build a full roster each year).

Hilarious. Stafford is the same as Rodgers.

Lol just admit you thought Carr was paid TOP DOLLAR, just like you keep insisting. You dont know what that is.

Carr is being paid like a mid tier QB mental midget.

It hasnt though. You just keep pretending. You have been doing since 2018 etc years and we were rolling.

Just like you keep pretending we had a enormous deadcap last year. Only to find out we were 12th in dead cap.

And you keep pretending we will be last in dead cap next year, when reasonable posters KNOW we will find out LATER where that number ends up.

So calm your little titties.

Kansas City scored less than us, what's Mahomes salary?

Surely you see the absurdity of comparing anything KC/Mahomes to Carr? As if he’s not paid on what’s he’s accomplished They “scored less than us” and won their division and are in the Super Bowl. That’s the whole point. Their is always nuance to scoring, how and when?

quote:

So we got better and better as the season progressed and they got worse. Is that your real argument?

44% of Carr’s TD passes were when the saints won or loss by 15+ points
(Mahomes 11%)

60% of our TDs came in the 2nd half of games. We had a lead at half in only 7 games. We played from behind the majority of the time. Nearly half of Carr’s TDs in blowouts

These are not empty statistics. Mahomes and the chiefs ran an efficient offense and did not put themselves in a hole that resulted in meaningless TDs. Every important offensive metric favors them

Uhhh you forgot about the defense getting destroyed in those games.

Lol, rigghhttt. So the offense was top 15 (first time in 4 years) but it was Carr’s fault we lost games even though the defense regressed?

So why did we fire Carmichael then? I mean top 15 offense and Carr played well right-according to you- then its nonsense to fire Carmichael?

You didn’t score a TD in the 1H of 5 of those 7 games. Tell me more about the defense. The defense was top 10 based on the same simple Jack statistics Carr blowhards love

And I do not absolve the defense. Both units play off each other. But you can do nothing if you aren’t scoring points and playing from a lead. 35% of Carr’s pass attempts came with a lead. You need to score more, you need to defend more if anything is going to work

quote:

So the offense was top 15

Top 15 offense, wow, awesome! The same offense that didnt score an opening drive TD until week 18. Carr scored a TD 50% of his red zone opportunities, same rate as Bryce Young, while actually getting in the RZ 8th most in the league. Grupe owned the RZ. 15th best TD pass %. 20th in yards per completion. 20th in yards per play. This is your king; the Derek Carr effect

We had the easiest schedule in the league in the worse division in the league.....still missed the playoffs. The only stat that counts is the win column.
