He officially is in his 7th year in the NFL and hasn't played a full season.

He was a force the lions first game I watched. Shame, because he has talent.

Main reason you couldn’t resign him or Armstead. Definition of injury prone…

ESPN is reporting that he is out for the season.

Least shocking thing about this season. He was a dominant force when in and I’m glad he played well when he played for us. But he’s not built for football and needs to retire.

Didn’t we give up like five 1st round picks for him?

Davenport needs to take his fricking heist and just fade away into obscurity

Why start now? He’s made about $40M doing this this far, why should he push himself? Hell, he may still be able to get a few more million on someone rolling the dice based on his pure talent when he is able to play.

You feel sorry for a guy that’s been robbing the NFL for 6 years now? The guy is well known to not really even like football but of course he does it for the money. He’s more into art and books and that kind of thing which is great but not what I want in my DL.

There might be 5 people who would play NFL football were it not for the money.

Meh. Lots of other guys in the league have outside interests. I bet the percentage of players who do it “for the love of the game” is pretty small. Davenport has just had bad injury luck or his body is just injury prone. Neither are his fault. It sucks for everybody who’s paid him, but I don’t think it’s lack of character or anything that hasn’t allowed his career to work out. Sometimes shite happens.

He’s not done yet…… some team will kick the tires with him and see the extreme raw talent.
He’ll get another paycheck and laugh all the way to the bank after getting bandaged by his doctors.

Davenport and Turner were Sean’s parting gifts to the Saints. A unibomber package would have been just as useful as long as it was Loomis that opened the package.

The most injury prone and most overhyped defensive player ever.

Why? He has more money than half this board and got it being a part time NFL player. We should all be so lucky. Sign me up.
