With the way Loomis trades, we'll probably give them our 2nd and get back a 4th.

That would be nice but I doubt they give him up.

I don't think we will get as much for CSP as people think.

Most coach trade situations are when the Coach is "still on the team", aka he was the HC that year, season ends, they trade him.

I can't think of many situations where he was off the team for at least a year.

People expecting multiple 1sts will be disappointed.

Does that matter tho bunch

This is what my gut is telling

-Saints aren’t being hamstrung & still having to pay him. He’s “retired”. They aren’t eating money. They have all the leverage

- how comfortable is Payton? Is he pushing to get back into coaching, or will he just sit back & let the teams handle it, with his soft, cush , media job to fall back on

- so it comes down to Dallas’ desperation, coming up with a compensation package of the saints liking, and also very likely giving Payton a new deal making him the highest paid coach in the league. And who else gets involved? Perhaps the Jets, the bengals, or commanders. Whomever. Could push the price up

It could. You make some fair points, but there's a psychological aspect here. The Saints have a new coach already, the team isn't getting their coach stolen. Its a year removed, they have a new HC, they've presumably played a full season, etc.

That's a totally different situation than getting your current coach poached.

Dallas is going to come with some level of desperation, but I don't think its a multiple 1sts type of situation.

One other factor here is: CSP will almost certainly want full control but will need to bring a GM type with him, so he will want to try and take Khai Hartley or Jeff Ireland one would think...

And the Saints will have to factor that in to discussions.

Business is business though. As long as they do not try & be lovey dovey and appease Payton, you are looking at at least one 1st rd pick and multiple other top 100(maybe another 1st) picks spread out over 2-3 drafts, and potentially cash.

Loomis has done kinda poorly in trades lately value wise. Definitely hasn't gotten the better of anyone a whole lot.

This is certainly possible.

As I said, I think the Saints will look at it as a package deal because Sean will certainly want to steal someone like Hartley or Ireland, and possibly a staff member or two, So they will factor that in, even if its not technically a part of the trade.

I'm just not counting on it. I hope its the case.

If you wish for a Kings haul this is how you get it. Don't know if it will happen but a bidding war with other teams and frikken Jerry would net us major bank

Conversation starts with one 1st. Then you fan it out from there:

Guy is under contract like any other asset. There is no charity involved, especially considering the premeditation of it all.

One thing we have to watch is if the Chargers fizzle out and don't meet expectations.

I could see CSP being VERY intrigued by already having a young QB that could be elite, and a shitload of other talent on that team, in the 2nd largest market in the US.

If they underachieve in a pretty tough division, I could see CSP MUCH preferring that to Dallas and dealing with Jerrah, and the Saints might prefer him in the AFC.

Would he be interested in Arizona? I'm not sure he would want to coach Kyler.

Totally fair. Is there a petition I can sign to help expedite this process?

Yall really think Loomis is going to get something for him? That's a joke

Not what he is worth but the fact that Loomis will hold out. He may holdout for 2 magic beans instead of 1

Yeah I don’t think we are going to get multiple firsts. If we got a first I’d be happy. A lot of our fans think we should get 5 firsts when we have almost no leverage.

Mmmmmm we have a good bit. We don't need a coach. We are 1-0 your team is 0-1

But really the biggest leverage we have is do you want to get in a bidding war with several other billionaires?
