They are desperate for a half season of Teddy Bridgewater? For what end? Giving up assets and lowering the value of their upcoming picks? Unless you think they think they are a Teddy Bridgewater away from winning this season’s Super Bowl.

Pssssst. The draft order isn’t determined until after the season. You can’t trade for “a top 5” in October.

Dolphins don't make sense. They're not trying to win now, so they don't need a better QB now. They're going to draft in the top 2 and grab their QB there. What you need is a team that just lost their starter and needs someone to keep the team in the hunt till the starter come back... Hey! Like the Saints!

EXACTLY! He is much more valuable to us than any other team in the league. This talk is laughable.

What if you trade him then Drew reinjures his hand and cant play the rest of the year

What happens if Sean loses the locker room because you traded a backup QB that was undefeated and could have salvaged the season

The team loves Teddy. They play hard for Teddy. Teddy chose to stay and probably took less money to do it on a 1 year contract. You keep him because he has proven to be more than capable and insurance is more important for a SB or bust team

The only way someone would trade for him is if a good team loses their QB this weekend. A bad team is not going to trade a pick for a QB for half a season. If he was under contract for another season, I could see it.

Cowherd is an idiot but in this case he is right.

If Brees is healthy and can play, Teddy needs to be traded ASAP. The return for him would be far greater than a comp pick we might receive when he leaves in free agency.

another senseless hot take from cowturd talking stupidity

any team who wants teddy will just sign him after the year ends as FA, any team desperate enough to not wait until season end is going no where and it wont matter if they win or lose the rest of their games so again, they will wait until the end of the year and sign him as FA.

until such a time as the saints sign teddy to a contract, then and only then, will any team even answer our phone calls.

lets see how that call will go:
hey we got a good QB thats a FA in 2 months if you want to give us draft picks to get him now and not risk another team getting him, but then he will still be a FA unless you can sign him to a contract so you may still be left with nothing after you give us a draft pick.

I did. So trade him after the season when we no longer own his rights?

Saints goal is to win THIS year and Teddy is important to that goal. If we trade him and Drew spends more time out, we are fricked.

With Teddy, we have a legit shot.

Other teams would kill for this kind of QB depth in a potential SB run.

Couple things:

1. Teddy is absolutely not the future here. His play has been solid for maybe 2 of his games. Saints aren't paying him $15-$20 mil a year.

2. Brees isn't retiring. The dude looks to be in agony on the sideline unable to play.

They aren't trading Teddy. There's a reason they signed him in the first place, this team is so good that they need a viable QB option if something happens to Brees. Well, something happened and their foresight paid huge dividends. That still doesn't mean you ditch him because what if something happened with Brees that set him back or god forbid another injury? They'd be stuck starting Taysom and then have a backup of JT Barrett? Not smart at all.

Then we'd be one helmet to Brees's hand away from either mising playoffs or one and done. Or even worse really, missing or losing Super Bowl.

I have faith in modern surgery and rehab and of course Brees's other-worldly discipline and determination. But at 45, I realize how shite happens to the 40+ body.

We need Teddy.

Eta: why are you idiots downvoting an undeniably factual post? Brees was hurt after only one full game. You really want to roll that dice? Morons.

Titans might win their division with Teddy. They may do something like Teddy and a 3rd for their 1st.

Bengals would have no reason to trade for him unless it is something like Teddy and a 2nd for Green

Bears would be interesting. Maybe we can do Teddy and a 4th for Robinson.
