Mayo out
Pederson out

Current open jobs...
Saints
Jets
Bears
Pats
Jags

Really sucks 4 of them pick before us, and the one that doesn't has a potential franchise qb.

Surely Johnson takes bears or jags. Just ready for him to make his decision, so we can move on to a realistic option.

Likely Vrabel to the Pats. We get the crumbs.

I didn't think gruden was a real possibility, but I think he may be the guy now. Spending time with team last offseason, and then pictured with Carr over the weekend.

Per schefter, bears, saints, and jets are expected to request interview with Glenn.

Gruden is definitely trying for the job. I like how someone wants it. I rather Glenn over him. I want Saints to sign top guy on market for 5 yrs. They need to bring in Johnson, Vrebal, and Glenn. Pick one. The deal should be 15 mil per yr for 5 yrs.

If he wants it - it’s his. We’re not going to get anyone close to his ability to coach until we rebuild.

Bonus: he neutralizes Loomis. Gruden calls the shots.

Gruden is NOT the big fish that some think he is.
His publicity is way better than performance. Hard pass

15 million? If you get Vrabel or Johnson then yes. There’s 5 coaches making 15 mill or more a year and Shanahan isn’t one of them. I’d say 9-12 mill is what id expect although i don’t give a shite how much they pay the coach as it means nothing salary cap wise.

So if we are to believe a lot of the "rankings" for the openings, it would appear the order is as followed:

Pats
Bears
Jags
Browns
Jets
Saints

which means so far we are picking 6th. Could also see a few coordinators punting on opportunities if only Clev, NYJ, and Saints are offering knowing a handful of jobs will come available again next year.

No way we are lower than the Jets. Their owner is legit insane.

I've seen a few of the local saints twitter personalities BIG MAD at the thought of Gruden getting the job (for political reasons)

The Jets and Browns are not ahead of the Saints. Good grief.

Zero doubt Loomis is bad. But Gruden calling the shots might be worse if that’s even possible.

His drafts were epically bad. He was making reaches and picking people rounds before they should have got picked in his raiders tenure.

Go look at his draft history under the Raiders before you wish this.

I think Gruden is a good coach, but he should get zero say in personnel matters. He had total control with the Raiders and it wasn’t pretty.

I did not write the rankings, just reporting what I posted. The main reasoning for the Saints being lower than both NYJ & Clev was cap space. NYJ have $31M in cap space, Clev $19M over, Saints $78M over (they used spotrac for their numbers). Some other articles also pointed out that Saints top talent tend to be their older players, and sited some younger stars for NYJ & Clev as the reasons for the Saints being lower.

Only reason NYJ are 2nd to last, and not last, is Woody. So definitely an argument for Saints to be 5th on the list. I am also sure part of the interview process will be Loomis selling to the potential coaching hire his intentions with the cap and how they will not be setting the new coach up for failure due to the roster/cap situation.

Do you not understand how much power Loomis has in New Orleans?
