#Saints backup center Will Clapp tested positive for COVID-19 and is out for Sunday’s playoff game against the #Bucs, per sources.
Contact tracing identified no high-risk close contacts. The NFL will continue to monitor test results, but there’s optimism this is isolated.

I'm not sure if the Saints just lied so nobody would miss but holy shite this could have derailed us fast.

Hopefully we lied. Otherwise not sure how every other olineman isnt a close contact

Did contact tracing on the Bucs' LB identify no one in close contact? Maybe the NFL is just saying screw it this far in the playoffs

Yeah unless they are keeping the backups separated for this exact reason.
I’ll give Payton a lot of credit, he’s working hard to ensure if something happens that it stays isolated and that they have a plan.

Olde “Turnstyle” Clapp is now just as big of a liability off the field than he is on the field.
We got to upgrade our OL depth next year and get him off the roster.

Clapp with the inside job sent by the NFL

Dodged a bullet that he wasn’t able to be contact traced to either the offensive line or defensive line guys. I wonder what practice has looked like this year. Maybe they have been avoiding face to face trench work due to Covid.

If will fricking clapp derailed us
Posted on 1/15/21 at 7:30 pm to josh336
Man i hope this is just an isolated incident because if tomorrow or Sunday anyone on the oline is out wtf are we gunna do...if just pay off the people doing the test with some Benjamin’s

Actually, after watching his blocking attempts for a few years it is not surprising at all that Clapp didn’t come into contact with anyone throughout the week...

Would be the most lsu/saints thing ever. Payton would definitely never draft another lsu player again

I would’ve thrown a fit if the NFL tried to frick us on this. You can’t tell me Kevin Minter wasn’t in the linebacker room and they had 0 contact tracing.... doesn’t add up lol

They actually have trackers they wear... and once someone tests positive they trace to see who they’ve been close to
The reason Denver had to sit all their QBs was because they weren’t wearing their trackers

They clearly are just saying “frick it” in the playoffs.
I’m to believe that Clapp, minter, and the packers OL guy all made zero contact with players at practice? Lol.

Starters and backups are kept apart as well
Posted on 1/15/21 at 9:00 pm to GynoSandberg
Is this true? I need to be walked off the ledge. If we have Brees’ last shot at a SB effed because of this shite, I’m going to lose my damn mind. Do we know for 100% starters are kept separate from backups? I knew they kept Siemian at the time separated from all other QBs but how would it be different than the AK situation?
