Now that LSU hater Sean Payton is gone we will definitely have more former Tigers than ever before.

I'd rather sign Landon Collins.

He's younger and bigger.

It would be great but hard to do if we take on Watson’s contract. We lose Williams and Armstead too most likely with no really way of replacing them besides moving Ramcyzk over and having PJ play Williams’ position. Big step down but still worth getting an elite QB. I think we will know by mid day tomorrow.

Collins has made the Pro Bowl three times and was an All-Pro once.

He doesn't suck.

Yea 4+ years ago. He does suck now. 3 INT's in 3 years and avgs less than 4 tackles a game. I'll pass.

ETA and gave up 8 TD's last year and giving up 8+ yards per attempt in coverage. OH and has been on IR 4 times in the last 5 years. We dont need any more of that.

If we sign another safety, is it too much to ask to get someone with ball skills?

He definitely didn't used to suck at all. He's middle of the road at best now, though.

Mathieu could be a replacement for Jenkins, but he is not the right safety to replace Williams.

And to be fair, Williams hasn't signed anywhere.

It does sort of feel like a lot of the Saints FAs are in a bit of a holding pattern seeing what the Saints do with Watson

If they are able to land Watson, I can definitely see several guys taking friendly deals to stay where they are comfortable and play for a top tier QB. As pointed out in another thread, Saints will need to wheel & deal to cut the cap by around $40M so they can get under the cap to trade Watson. Then can extend/restructure Watson right after to clear another $25M+

I think a lot of the guys want to re-sign but won't be able to realistically if we get Watson. I think a few a more likely to re-sign if we don't get him and go with Jameis, given that it may be more financially feasible.

But I don't put anything past Loomis.

(I do think Williams is gone regardless, likely to Washington)

According to Rich Cimini, the Jets are still interested in Marcus Williams, but he is hearing that Williams's price is still too high for teams and they are waiting for it to come down.
