I guarantee you if either of these two QBs the Saints have now are able to get 10 years of starting experience in the NFL they will be at a bare minimum as good as Derek Carr was for this team.

He definitely wasn’t a GREAT QB, but the people who think this are fricking retarded. He had around 100QB rating in his time here. He was a DECIDEDLY above average-good QB and the Saints paid him market value. Now if you want to argue that they shouldn’t have gone that route to begin with…..fine, but to say that he was over paid or bad is ignorant.
What was his QBR in the red zone? Did his stats match the eye test to you? Did you even watch the games?
Guy was below .500 as a starter. He never won a playoff game. He’s a career loser, DECIDEDLY.
We could have easily signed Baker Mayfield for what we gave Carr. Don’t talk to me about market value.
Imagine white knighting for Derek fricking Carr.

Ehhhh, I don’t know about Shough yet. But Rattler doesn’t have it. Carr is slightly above average…slightly. Which means he was a long term starting NFL QB. I think Rattler’s ceiling is long term back-up that is slightly below average.

This is the kind of retarded shite I was talking about. The Raiders are the worst run organization in all of sports (arguably), and STILL had very good years there. Carr (while here)had basically this same roster (and Pete C as his OC) at 9 wins 2 years ago. He was pretty damn good here
And I am not “White Knighting” for Derek Carr, I am actually glad that we are leaning into the rebuild now, but I am tired of fans acting like POS humans where he is concerned. He did what they paid him to do, but I bet you love MT13
We get it, you don’t like him……but acting like an irrational girl isn’t the answer

Carr wasn’t bad, just wasn’t worth what we were paying him. Our current QB situation is worse, but it’s also WAY cheaper.

Sure pal, if you believe Derek Carr was an “above average to good” quarterback, go ahead and die on that hill. But you’ll be dying alone.

Remind me again what are our current QBs contracts compared to Carr?

You get what you pay for

It still would not have made a difference. He would be on IR by now with this OL.
