Actually I think Carmichael would do a great job with Carr. IF DA would hire a real OC and have Pete focus on QB's again that might improve the offense more than anyone knows.

He’s done nothing in this league.
He had no playoff wins and sun .500 winning record. He’s milk toast.
Giving up a third for him is terrible.

This is a good descriptor. He's not going to tank the team, but he's absolutely not going to get them over the hump. He's an average QB at best demanding above-average QB money.

The only way carr works is if you have an elite play caller. If you put Goff, Purdy, and even Tua in our system there would be similar results. The difference is all of those guys are beneficiaries of having the best offensive minds in the world dialing up calls to suit their strengths. We have the furthest thing from that.

its 90% all coaching issues
carr is a decent QB but he struggles with decision making and hesitates before throwing it. he also tends to stare down his targets, and when that happens, any DB worth his pay will step in front and pick it off.
10% is on carr, he is not the main problem with this team, DA is, but carr is not the guy that can put the team on his shoulders and carry you to a win, he is just a game manager that is not gonna stupidly throw it up for grabs to lose the game for you like winston does.
the production you saw yesterday was ONLY because we were down by 21 and PC couldnt keep calling kamara runs up the middle for 1 yard gains like he has done all year.

The fact is, in 10 starts for the Saints, Jameis Winston has one more victory than Derek Carr has in 12 (6-4 vs 5-7).
In those 10 starts he passed for 18 TDs/8 INTs with a passer rating of 93.1.
In 12 starts, Carr has 11 TDs/6 INTs and a passer rating of 89.4.
I’m not advocating Winston is better than Carr or is a good qb but this theory that Carr is a decent qb and much better than Winston is kind of overblown. Carr is a big part of the problem, its not just majority coaching.
