After yesterday he passed up Derrick Thomas on the all-time sack list

impressive!

Thomas played 4.5 seasons less worth of games in an era that didn’t pass like the do today. I think this is something they consider heavily

I think Cam’s a lock. Don’t discount the fact that he’s extremely popular and media friendly. It’s those old crusty sportswriters that vote on this stuff.

Is why I honestly think Cam won't get in, despite deserving it overall.

I don’t know if he’s popular with the print media. If Kay Adams and Kyle Brandt were on the committee, for sure.

Better players still need to get in. But flirting with 10 sacks as he approaches 40 will make him undeniable. He’s 13.5 away from the top 10. No one will care about anything else if he gets in elite company

I think he has missed 2 regular season games in his entire career.

I believe one missed game was due to Covid contact tracing (or that could’ve been Demario).

Let’s not forget how great Cam has been at knocking balls down at LOS. He is a true 3 down DE

Give him 2 more for 130 all time, passed Saints legend and HOFer Rickey Jackson for 17th all time!

What's more crazy is that Myles Garrett might have more than him before Eoy. He'll likely have the all time record

Give our boy 1 more!

Needs 1.5 to pass Lawrence Taylor and Leslie O’Neal for 15th all time

He's in my HOF for being a genuinely humble gentleman and one of the best representatives of the Team and our community that the Saints have ever enjoyed.

Great player better man.

How many batted balls and interceptions does Cam have?

And, how many forced fumbles? He had one yesterday, and I saw only about a third of the game.

According to pro football reference he has 67 passes defended, which would also include coverage breakups, but he doesn't go out in coverage very much so most of those would be batted calls. 3 picks, 17 forced fumbles and 12 fumble recoveries

If Andre Tippet is in the HoF then Jordan should be a no brainer

I think Cam is safely a hall of famer. His numbers are comparable to Von Miller who I would think is a 1st ballot guy

How many guys on this list played mostly on the right side and not the QB’s blindside?

Yeah Cam is an easy HOF. The issue is, a lot of guys are either First Ballot or in due to team success. Put Cam Jordan on the Eagles or Chiefs and he's a first ballot guy. I don't understand why the media takes into account team success for the HOF when football has 53 man rosters, huge coaching staffs, large front office groups, different ownership structures, legacies impacted by officiating, etc.

LINK

This is a table that shows his chances. Guys in bold are in the HOF. The table includes AP1 (DPOY I think), pro bowls, and championships which weigh heavily for the voting it looks like.

HOFm is the metric showing the chance to make the HOF

If he can get another 5 sacks he’s undeniable I think
