For the sake of argument he doesn't break the TD record this year.

I don't think he does with that record in sight and sure to break it next year. Plus, having the best O-line in the league to me would be a big factor. He's barely getting touched and is still playing at an elite level with the best offense in the league. Why not come back again and try to repeat while for sure getting the TD record.

He will at the very least finish his contract.

I am about 100% certain Brees will come back regardless. He's playing at such an elite level, getting paid like a mono, has the best OL and young talent in the NFL. This is the reason he came to New Orleans!! No way he leaves money on the table, records, and playing with a loaded, young roster..HE WILL BE BACK

He was already on nfl network and said he would not retire if he won the super bowl. Enough of an answer for you?

He also mentioned before that his kids love coming to practice with him so that might be another reason he would stay

He's not going to retire one season away from the all time TD pass record

No.

When he starts to show any dropoff or starts getting hit a lot he will retire i think

But its not there yet, he has 2-3 more years imo

he's already said he's not retiring after this season regardless of whether the Saints win another SB or not

Hopefully, he can go out like Elway. Win the next two SB then retire.
