I think the colts, broncos, and rams are the only real situations that payton will entertain given they typically have the type of ownership and history of success payton is looking for. I think the broncos are a pretty realistic situation for sean. We definitely need that first this year and either a 2nd or 3rd at some point in the next 2 years

2 first or they can go frick themselves and Sean can sit his arse at home. Why do we care?

I’ll let Sean stay retired and continue to recharge his batteries as he asked before I sell him off for a discount.

A late first doesn’t change our outlook much. We still have a ton of leverage will we get less next year? Maybe. Should a Gm bet he can make a better hire than a proven offensive coach with a Super Bowl on his resume? Probably not. Pay up

I don’t give a shite if we don’t get anything. His arse can stay home unless we get two firsts. I would make that the starting point. He’s worth that. If not, he can come back to us or he can sit out for two more years.

Does Payton poach any coaches/scouts away from the Saints?

Jeff Ireland?

Albert Breer is reporting that it's likely Sean will only agree to go somewhere if he can bring a GM with him - likely Ireland or ( ) Ryan Pace.

IMO if this org let's Ireland go they are asking to all lose their jobs

You can’t trade players in a trade for a coach. We would have to be more crafty. I don’t see this happening though.

A deal will happen but this isn’t necessarily true.

Broncos 1st from Miami and their own Third. That would give us 4 picks altogether in the top 80. People forget that in addition to Olave, we also got a 1st rd OL last year who should hopefully be healthy next season. Only other thing I would want is a player. Jerry Jeudy or Javonte Williams would be great, or both ??.

Rams are in a similar spot it feels like. What draft capital can they offer?

What exactly do you expect to get ?

This has a lot of moving parts and the saints have no leverage until teams openly pursue him and he actually wants to coach there

Denver is a good spot if Payton wants it. They are desperate to get something out of their Wilson investment. A 1st rd pick even if he’s later is a great starting point

Payton could try and sell himself to the Broncos.

I mean come on, why bite at the first offer if you are him?

You can’t have players involved in coaching trades.

as long as we don't get ripped off, I'm good.

I've set the bar low AF!

with good intentions if that makes sense.

I want something that gives us ammo to get into the top 6-7 and grab a QB. A late first we can add another starter to a squad that’s going no where

We have a rare asset, make someone pay through the nose if they want it

I want that too but Arizona is the only team that fits that mold and they do not currently have a job opening

Plus I find it extremely unlikely they’d part with Top 5 pick even so, but I guess you never really know.
