Who gives a shite about 4k yards....In all of those Brees massive yardage seasons we NEVER had this beastly a defense and were never this complete a team.

It's a different team, winning in a multitude of ways. The hell with meaningless stats and records.

The right move, IMO. Teddy is here, in part, to step in if needed and produce. It's right, fair, and proper to give him a full week of prep as the #1, to go through the week as the anticipated starter, and play an entire game. He hasn't started a regular-season or post-season game in nearly three years.

Don't want to see him have to do this again this season, God forbid, but if he does, this week can only help him be as effective as he can be.

Really excited to see him work on Sunday!

none of these stories say brees wont play or that teddy will start the game, only that he will play.

nothing specific has been said that "brees will not play"

until that is said there is no reason to believe brees doesnt play the first series to get his 4k yards

Teddy can be our 12 year heir apparent to Drew, it would suck to lose him to other teams mostly because of the extra leverage this game can give him

I've thought about this.

Bridgewater knows this is his audition, and Payton might still want to call an aggressive game. There's potential for a Matt Flynn type game.
Remember, last time Brees sat out (2016 I think), the Sprint PCS backup plan threw for over 300 yds on Carolina.
