Probably true but play calling got so bad late as if Payton didn't trust Brees to make the throw to put it away at the end. Payton should have trusted his Elite qb to come up big at the end and seal the deal. I can't blame our defense they gave us every shot to put it away
Uhhh the fade to Colston?? Horrible call by the way

I'm talking about the last play before the punt when New England got the ball back. I don't know what the hell Sean was thinking there

Brees is not an elite qb anymore, his skills are on a downward trend. With that being said the saints have not done anything to help Drew out. The running game is weak, and his WR group is below average and pass blocking is average at best. He still has enough skills to make the Saints a playoff team, but make a run at the superbowl with his supporting cast is a long shot at best.

We weren't going to risk an incomplete pass because we wanted to force them to use timeouts. I wanted a stretch play but Sean took a shot with the bootleg, but Brees was never letting go of the ball in that situation.

They had no more timeouts left before the the stupid bootleg play was called.

Ok but the not wanting to throw and risk the incompletion part of my statement still applies

But see that's my point he should have trusted Brees to get in the shotgun and make a throw to seal the win. Maybe even a high percentage throw like a screen play to pierre. I think you gotta give your best players a chance to win the game the bootleg was basically a give up. I get the percentages and the way the defense stepped up in the second half he didn't think they would drive 70 yards for a score but that's Tom Brady not Tony Romo.

We had already stopped them once and Payton trusted our defense to stop them from getting a td with a minute left. At that point it just makes sense to take 30 seconds away from Brady. I think the strategy was the right call at that point.

I think the Patriots had a pretty good game plan for our offense.

they were missing Wilfork in the middle so it wasn't a surprise we ran on them some.

but early on... again.. they set the tone.

usually we are the ones imposing our will.

second road game in a row on the road... I mean we were probably due for a loss.

sucks how it ended but keep in mind NE is 5-1 with all those injuries on their team. Most of the games they've played this year have been pretty much been what you would have expected.

Your right that was the correct call but Payton has shown in the past he's not always played the percentages, just wish they were a Lil more aggressive on the last drive. Good rappin with ya bro I'm out

The strategy was spot on. If we would have thrown an incompletion people would have complained that we should have run it to give Brady less time.

He is very much elite, our receiving core, not so much. If Graham is down ,it makes me very nervous. Its time for Ingram to go and use whatever we can salvage for him to secure a top receiver, Brees deserves it.

He's had his moments this year when you say yes but his play today and this year overall have been slightly above average. He's missing wide open guys and under throwing receivers a lot like he's lost his rhythm or his arm is fading. I'm one of his biggest supporters but lately he's been average at best.....flame away

Then Brady isnt elite anymore as well...and Rodgers as well...they all had bad games today...so I guess we have no more elite QBs in the league besides Peyton, who will lose in the playoffs.
