Bankston said it’s absolutely a week to week issue and coming back in a week is not off the table.

Did you get your medical license in Ethiopia?

If it won’t limit his performance, why did he sit the entire 2nd half??? I swear some of y’all are just damn dumb.

He didn’t play because he thought his back was tightening up on him, not because of pain from the ribs

It was his lung though, not his back

The people who have spoke out against Brees can sit the frick down now. This man threw a TD pass in the NFL with all that, that’s nothing but sheer determination and heart which Drew is full of.

I’ve fractured just ribs before (same side) and it’s the most painful injury I’ve ever had. Luckily, I’d guess there’s a fairly good chance he comes back this year if there’s no complications. Winston will have to guide us through for awhile though

I mean, hes tough as shite.

But wtf does one have to do with the other. The criticism of Drew this offseason had literally nothing to do with physical toughness, so this is completely irrelevant.

Didn’t take a pain management injection. Pretty common without knowing the severity of the injury.

I’m late to this thread.

Was he not X-rayed in the Dome? He had the jersey on the entire time. So I assume not. Some fractures you miss, but the type that collapse a lung you don’t miss.

They dodged a bullet with this. He was injured before halftime? To go into the half and not be X-rayed is inexcusable. Unless Brees is just flat tough to a fault and refused an exam.

How many all time great QBs have retired and become coaches? That’s like saying Trump or Obama is going to leave the Presidency to become a City Council Member.

The fact that he had cracked ribs from the Bucs and managed to suit up against the 9ers, makes me think hes going to sit long enough for the lung to heal

This would seem to back that up:

quote:

Brees is suffering from three fractured ribs on his left side and two on the right, possibly more, according to the source. Doctors have cautioned Brees to be especially careful with the damage to his lung.

Karma for selling his soul to the devil. He should have either kept his mouth shut or stand up for what is right... I hate to see his great career end this way.

the frick is wrong with some of you? speaking of keeping their mouth shut, you probly should as well. to say it is karma for him getting hurt is ignorant. and I honestly do not think you care about his career - you have clearly shown you don't with the start of your post.

Drew’s insta post this morning doing his breathing treatments with his kids helping, and saying he will be back in no time.... kinda has me very optimistic.

bruh I don't think anyone ever questioned brees toughness. the dude has went into this league and dominated a career with his size disadvantage. he has been hurt much more than you know trust me especially when lineman hit him and he disappears. do you know how vulnerable he is? I'll bet he has a ton of injuries piling up on his body now we don't know about.
