Source: Results of medical evaluations performed today on #Saints quarterback Drew Brees revealed that he has multiple rib fractures on both sides of his chest and a collapsed lung on the right side. Injuries suffered over two weeks. It is uncertain how much time he might miss.

Drew Brees suffered two fractured ribs Sunday against the 49ers and three others on the right side the previous week against the Bucs that were not seen on X-ray until today. Brees has been advised to be cautious with the collapsed lung.

I’ve done this. The thing about the lung is in there for drama. It can be an issue if you rush back but the saints won’t do that.

He’s probably looking at 4-6 weeks.

Only positive from this is that he seemed to have fractured 3 of those ribs last week in the Bucs game...so he has shown he can kind of play through it. Collapsed lung is another story. That explains the "something I have never dealt with" part of his interview yesterday.

Rap just tweeted that IR is not being discussed so this could mean he’s out only three weeks.

Or they want him at practice and on the sidelines helping Winston while he is out.

If he’s on IR, he can’t participate in team activities aside from rehab.

Collapsed lung can take lots and lots of rehab and treatment, depending on the case and severity.
