The stark contrast is baffling. For years, there were people saying "I've come to trust Mickey and Sean. They've earned that right!" Now, Mickey is incompetent and Sean is gone. Exactly who stirs the coffee down there on Airline?

I think ownership has a lot to do with it. Mr. Benson up until the end was an experienced owner and highly involved with the team and got shite done.

We've lost a generational qb and a coach back to back with the worst cap situation in the league combined with a total shite hand of health circumstances. Take a deep breath but it's going to be a process.

I have been saying this all season.. The thing is a lot of these fans have been fans in just the Payton/Brees era and never felt the pain of the Aints and the bags.. Just deal with what we got and wait/plan for the 2024 draft.. Things will get better..

Mr. Benson? The guy who was ready to move the team to San Antonio?!? I'll give him credit for finally hiring the right people and then getting out of their way.

All SP was is an oppertunist. The second he loses his HOF
QB he`s gone .HE didn`t want to show fans how much of a
average he was. Look at his playoff record with HOF QB and
losing to the Case Keenuns and Rex Grossmans of the world.
I dont believe he would be doing much better than DA IS
now.He knew he would tarnish his coaching rep had he stayed.

Mostly because of fans before CSP and those that came after.

One group is much more patient than the other.

Many of us were kinda prepared for this inevitable outcome of keeping the core in tact when we had a generational QB and top 5 head coach. I always figured once they were gone we would go back to sucking for an undetermined time until new blood came along. It’ll take a great coach and QB to reverse the trend we see now, you do not simply replace a Brees/Payton regime like it’s nothing.

All the more reason the people bashing them and calling for their heads while we still had them and were actually winning are the worst type of fan and probably were not fans before 2006. I’ll take contending any day over pre Katrina days or what we see now.

Losing Jimmy Johnson and Aikman, Irvin, smith plus a giant wall of offensive linemen didn’t keep the Cowboys winning after the crew retired/ split up.

Great teams only have so many years until you are looking at a downward cycle of 5-10 years. What New England did was mind-boggling.

What people really meant was that they trusted Brees. Things are a lot easier for everyone else when you’ve got a franchise QB in the building.

the lot of this site hate Brees because of off-field things..they can't separate their 8 year old emotions from it.

That being said -- its clear it is time to rebuild, not kick the can down the road any longer. move assets you can get assets and rebuild around the youth for a couple years and try to find that QB.

Guys like Cam, DD either stay if its what they want & we move them for assets or we just let them finish their time here as we rebuild

This whole number of posts and years on the board stuff always makes me laugh. I had an acct for many years and lost it when I switched jobs and got locked out of my old one.
