Bears leaped Saints for waiver claim on LB Sterling Weatherford

It isn’t too surprising to see the New Orleans Saints’ interest in adding another linebacker. They only rostered five of them while signing three others to the practice squad, but lost veteran backup Jon Bostic to a reunion with his old Washington Commanders team. So it’s disappointing to see the Saints were unable to snag a player they coveted from Wednesday’s update to the waiver wire. ESPN’s Field Yates reports that they were one of two teams to file a waiver claim for former Indianapolis Colts linebacker Sterling Weatherford
Weatherford, 23, signed with Indianapolis as an undrafted rookie out of Miami-Ohio. The Colts had designs for him to return to their practice squad had he cleared waivers, but the Saints and Chicago Bears kept that from materializing. And because Chicago had the higher waiver claim priority (7th overall; New Orleans was stuck at 18th), Weatherford is now a Bear. The only other player that the Saints claimed off of waivers, rookie offensive lineman Tanner Owen, is in New Orleans.
So look for the Saints to continue the search for linebacker help. There aren’t many proven quantities on the active roster behind Demario Davis (who is joined by Kaden Elliss, Andrew Dowell, and Zack Baun while Pete Werner continues to recover from a groin injury) with three backups on the practice squad in Nephi Sewell (an undrafted rookie out of Utah), Eric Wilson, and Chase Hansen. They’ll keep an eye on the waiver wire in the days ahead and maybe fly in some free agents for tryouts.

Guess how I know you are a liberal media type? Only such a person could spin such a headline that is a obvious lie.
You say the Bears leaped the Saints to claim this guy off waivers when the Bears were 7th in line and the Saints 18. There literally 11 teams that could have also claimed him before the Saints. Explain how the Bears leaped the Saints?

All I did was post a link...jackass.
If you've read my opinions on here, then you would know I'm nothing close to a liberal.
I'll be nice & end the conversation here.

I agree with Ponchy here, I expected to read about some sort of waiver wire shenanigans.
Instead it was just the bears had the higher pick, no shenanigans or leaping involved.

I really think you are thinking way too hard and deep into this. This is a baseless post/attack on probably a top 3 poster, if not the top poster on the board, and is arguably a bannable post tbh baw..
I don’t like Uncle Joe either, but damn, we have other boards for that and we have plenty of material. We don’t need to make a massive stretch like this against arguably the best poster on Saints Talk.

It's literally the title of the article. I can't even escape the poli board weirdos on Saints Talk anymore. It's already seeped into the OT and the M/TV board.

Well looky here. Same guy that called most of the people in Washington Parish retarded and you can't understand the simple concept of how the waivers work. Pot meet Kettle
Bears had a higher claim priority than the Saints. Original team (Colts) have no claim priority they have to wait for all the teams to clear. NO other teams were interested. I think you owe the good people of Washington Parish and GMoney2600 an apology.
Don't you?

Oh well. We missed out on another UDFA. Shucks.

That's not necessary. I'm not petty.

Sometimes I am, yes you posted a link my bad it wasn't your headline. MY point was it takes some gymnastics to say the Bears leaped the Saints to claim Weatherford when in no way shape or form did that happen. The headline is 100% wrong. My apologies to you.
To the guy claiming I do not know how the waver wire works might need to go read up on it himself or either you cannot comprehend my comment. In no way can one team leap over another one in the waver wire process.

Gmoney was just posting as is… and he’s one of the best posters on ST. No reason to take shots at him.

I don’t like Uncle Joe either, but damn
Nevermind the fact that A) there ain't much out there to watch B) Tolkien is a popular author and his work is interesting, and C) the show has the biggest budget in TV history.
It won't be long until people will attack you for posting on the Home/Garden board, asking about the "wrong" brand of power tools. It's a shame what is happening.
Let's not forget that liking Brees became a targetable offense not too long ago. Mofo won us a Super Bowl, now there are "Saints fans" who hate him. SMDH
