They just got a turnover deep in our territory, chance to grab a lead in a game where it seemed like "last one with the ball wins", knowing they got the ball first in the second half, and then that happens. Bad call or not, you don't think that was a demoralizing turn of events that could have altered how they played the rest of the half?

Again, to my original point, you can't predict what happens, but for those dismissing it with "we won by 10 so it doesn't matter", you're essentially saying the same thing you're accusing me of, predicting how the rest of the game would have played out.

Look again at his RIGHT leg. I know the camera angle forces you to focus on the left leg, but you'll see that right shin hit the ground first and the ball was EXACTLY where they placed the ball. Again, look at the right shin first.

Yes, same with the wrist if you're dealing with upper extremities.

Sorry guys, his arm is not making a 3 foot stretch at that moment. His arm is bent and angled to the side as well, ball is even more upright position.
I think the call was extremely close and would have stood regardless of how called but i can't say the Rams got robbed on this call in the least bit.

I need the imaginary yellow line before I can make up my mind on this.

The question is just when his knee was down or out bounds. While it’s difficult to see from that angle, a couple others showed it’s clear he managed to keep his knee up until he went out of bounds

This is wrong.

The question is where the ball was when it crossed the plane of the out of bounds white line. That happens before the knee is down. I'm pretty sure that's what they couldn't see.

I think he made the first down. I was surprised that they didn't overturn it.

But, don't write an entire article based on an incorrect premise.

The best look was this view from across the field that showed Hekker clearly reached across the 12-yard line:

And, because of that, this is also incorrect. Go rewatch that play and ask if you know FOR CERTAIN that the ball didn't cross the out of bounds line at teh 12.25 yard line.

Also, the player is down by contact when the ankle is down (I just learned this).

He's actually "down" a bit before that pic.

Is the first down at that next yard marker? Not the best angle to make that claim.

The ref who marked it was upfield, right? He didn't have a great angle either.

yes, marker is a yard away from knee. he isn't making a 3 ft stretch, this isn't the nba.

We went on a run, they went on a run. Maybe without the correct call of him being short, it’s tied at half instead of in the 3rd.

Yeah but you’re playing in hypotheticals. I’m playing with what happened on the field. It was short, saints won.

Sorry the saints won. It must be so hard for you to deal with.

Well Cam got mauled on a hold as he was bearing down on Goffs blindside.
Could have been a sack strip TO.
Wasn't called.
Our rookie wideout out got held down trying to go up a get a pass in the end zone preventing a TD.
So I give zero sh!ts if a call went our way.

Forget the knee, Looked to me like his shin was down well before he could have gotten the 1st down marker.

Good night, you're the worst kind of arguer. Never, at any point, did I express the fact that I hated that we won because of a call. Good job, deflecting. You must have taken lessons from my 12 year old.

You sure seem like it. The call was right but here you are arguing like hell about it changing the game unnecessarily.

Lol at calling me the worst arguer when all you’re doing is playing the contrarian.

I started off dismissing the notion of "we won by 10", not the OP. You took us down this path.

Definitely looked like they got it wrong.

Officials are human and make mistakes.

One play does not determine an entire game.

Get over it. We won.

Disagree. The last angle proves it. He s reaching for the sticks but doesn’t actually reach across until momentum carries him out of bounds
