Yes I know we will get shot and cars broken into.

Haven’t made a game Since Covid. Happy’s was always my spot to drink morning beers like a degenerate before heading to the Dome. It is my understanding that it has closed.

Are there any other spots on Poydras with a similar atmosphere open for the early games?

I would avoid Walk-ons because it gets too crowded. Copper Vine is where Happy's used to be. You could hit up the bar on the 2nd floor of the Hyatt, go grab a drink at Johnny Sanchez, or check out the new brewery on Loyola called Brewery Saint X.

Atmosphere is on the street - bars are way too crowded. Either go to the FQ and walk over at 11am or grab drinks from dudes on the corner with ice chests.

not a damn thing happening in the FQ before a noon game. Happy's used to be our go to spot as well, we started tailgating instead so we can get there early and not fight crowds for every drink.Never had any problems with smashed windows in the lot between The Original Italian Pie and Loyola. They have a few guys that tailgate/watch the game in that lot so I think the constant foot traffic keeps the criminals away.

What? Is it a pop-up for gamedays? I work next door to that PJs and don't know of any bar in the area.

You probably won't get shot, but there is a real possibility your car will be broken into.

There's a brewery across from the Post Office on Loyola (Saint X) that has a decent beer selection. BBQ restaurant connected to it (Devil Moon BBQ)

Ain't what it used to be. The current owner has ran that place into the ground.

The old Ditcharo's building is back as bar, Pour House @ District. If its anything like the old Ditch would be a great pre-game spot.

Brewery Saint X should be a great new spot pre/post game, Voodoo Two is an underrated spot on Carondelet. And Rouses for a walkaround 6 pack before the game.

The bar at the new virgin hotel was nice. And not too crowded last year when I went.
