If they're eating salary and it's only a 3rd, I want em

Michael Lombardi said that some QB clarity could come today...

Yep. And I don't even like the guy...but sometimes a little humble pie and maturing goes a long way with people.

When he's healthy and not in his own head there is an interesting skill set. Thowing on the move, avoiding pressure, arm strength.

Yeah, I mean, if nothing else, he’s a serviceable backup with NFL starting experience for that price.

They'd have to eat a lot of the salary. He's on his 5th year option at almost $19M.

Would be nowhere near worth it unless he is going to start. Even then, it's risky, because he's in the last year of his deal and could walk next offseason

Apparently falcons may still trade Ryan. If colts get Ryan, baker loses 1 potential spot.

...
Looks like falcons could be gearing up for a run at stroud or young, which is really smart, and this is not a good thing for us

I don’t know… rumors coming out teammates didn’t like him… those situations seem to always be bad(Carson Wentz)… plus the nerve of a QB of his caliber on a rookie deal DEMANDING a trade…

The idea of Baker is starting to grow on me, if we can get him cheap enough. He will have a chip on his shoulder and try to prove people wrong. If he doesn't have it, it won’t cost much.

Maybe so. I really don't have a preference between the 2. I think both have upside and both are coming off injury. I wouldn't be mad about either

I'd rather see what Jameis could do with good WR. I think he could throw for 30+ tds easily

I really can't name you one thing Baker does better than Jameis outside of he could probably get you 10 yards on a QB scramble vs Jameis getting you a good 7

What has Winston ever done? I see people come on this board and push for him constantly.. I have no problem with the guy seems like he’s turned his character around. But as far as an nfl qb the guy has never won anything. There’s a reason the Bucs moved on from him and no one has signed him this off season either.

I see the argument we were 5-2 and he was playing great! He was playing average at best. Payton had the hand cuffs on him and we were barely beating bad teams.. beat Seattle without Wilson 13-10. Struggled with Washington. Defense was lights out against New England who was a bad football team at the time. He went out early second quarter of tampa game and somehow he gets credit for that win over TS, which makes no sense. He played well against Green Bay but other than that it was average at best.

He’s not getting us anywhere. I don’t see the point in signing him for 3 years. Feel like that’s a wasted 3 years unless you draft a qb to sit behind him and start soon. Which the draft doesn’t have anyone that stands out. All this to say I would like the Baker move. Played injured last year.

The thing about trading for Baker is that he is on the last year of his rookie deal. So the question needs to be are you prepared to commit to him long term? If not, giving up any significant compensation for a one year rental is not smart.

Dude got 135 tds, 20000+ yards… yeah he got 91 ints… but he basically Matthew Stafford if we going off accomplishments up to a certain point in their careers..,

Jamies better than Baker

Thrown for 5k yards. And for over 4k two other times.
I recognize the weaknesses he has. But he at least has potential, baker has none.

Yeah Arians didnt know how to use him. His offenses historically are not great for the qb. Hell, even Brady struggled for the first half the season until he finally took over the offense and made it his own.

Totally agree. I wish the handcuffs had been taken off him.

Doesnt have to be 3 years. But even still, a 3 year contract doesnt mean he has to be here for 3 years.

In his time in cleveland, has he had a good oline? A good running game? Good receivers? Answer that honestly.

OLine & Running Game = Browns had the 3rd in ‘20 & 4th in ‘21 most Rushing yards per game
WR’s = Jarvis Landry & OBJ
Cleveland also has a couple of pretty good TE’s (Njoku & Austin Hooper)

So I’d have to say that Baker has had enough good skill position players to perform better than what he has for sure!
