31 years old for a tackle is not that old.

It’s old for a guy who misses 1/3 of his games

At some point we gotta stop paying so much for these guys that are on the downslope

Can you give a good example of the last bad contract we gave to a guy on the down slope?

TA is a 31 year old tackle. Tackles don't age like RB's. He has at the very least 3 good years in him. Not to say he wouldn't be injured for 3+ games a season during those years, but he's not getting paid elite money. He's getting paid good to average tackle money.

Lost in all of this is that Armstead made it pretty clear he didn’t want to play with Winston

It’s only $75 million according to the NFL so they got him for $15 million a year. Big time steal and for that I can’t believe we didn’t match it.

I wouldn’t say that. I guarantee that he will be the highest paid tackle in football on a per games played basis……

Tackles can last a good bit. But when you have a player that is constantly injured in their 20’s, you seriously think it will get any better in their 30’s? That defies logic.

I apologize for asking this, but do you entertain moving Peat out?

No. He can barely play guard.

Where do y'all get this bullshite from?

Just because he waited on watson doesn't mean he didn't want to play with winston.

If he gets that same contract with nola he signs it. He loves it here. He is a team leader.

He waited to make a decision based on what Watson did. Underhill reported as such.

If we land Watson, we have even less to offer him.

I think he wanted more money, a change of scenery, and yes to not play with Winston. It was a factor. How much? Idk. But some.

Actually none of that is true. You just contradicted yourself.

He waited to see if the saints got watson. Maybe the saints asked him to wait. Maybe not.

Jameis wasn't even signed by then. Maybe the saints only wanted to spend the money of they had watson and great superbowl odds.

Armstead would know who the qb would be for at least 5 yrs with watson.

I think the saints didn't offer to match once they were out of the watson running. Watson is obviously a much better qb.

Glad they didn’t pay $15 million for a premiere LT?

I admittedly don't google this stuff as much as some but

Let's put it this way, say he plays 12 games and misses 5 per year. Would you pay a 300 pound cheerleader 5 million a year to cheer on the team?

I’m sure it’s a two or three year deal with extra voidable years to spread cap hit. Don’t get too excited about initial contract numbers

How did this get nothing but down votes lol. I’m sure this one will get more

Underhill basically squashed that narrative in his article today so I stand corrected.

So that means they’ll get a total of about 3 years worth of playing time out of him.
