Anyone else feel it was deathly quiet in the stadium yesterday?

I'm not sure if it was CBS filtering out the sound or what but it seemed like the Giants fans were sitting on their hands most of the game. I could hear Drew Brees calling out audibles on several plays and other than a brief moment at the end, the place was a ghost town. Anyone else get that impression?

Just sounds like that because CBS equipment is superior to the shitty Fox broadcast that you've grown accustomed to.

Yes I told a friend that.
New York is the most overrated sports town in the world.

They have always done this. Fox was the first to try to immerse the viewer with crowd noise and sounds of the game. CBS is old fashioned

I was there. 80% of the stadium had left when they were only down 19-10.

There was a pretty loud who dat chant at the end. Saints Fans showed up.

I've noticed this happens more often than not in pro sports (NFL, NBA, MLB) for some reason, despite having rosters filled with elite athletes.

College games, with just a fraction of talent, rarely have dead silence, no matter the network.

I've seen NBA games where players are making "routine" 3 pointers or dunks and it sounds like an empty gym practice session. Whereas, in college, maybe it's not expected to routinely happen, so people lose their mind when it happens.

I was at the game and was pretty shocked with their crowd. Lots of empty seats and they were some miserable people. Place cleared out when they were down 16.

Kind of related:

Has anyone noticed that on the CBS broadcast, when the scores of other games pop up at the bottom, it makes a little cricket chirp noise? When they started that shite last year I thought i was going insane.

It’s completely out the way, the train rides back to midtown would have been miserable if we had lost. Away games always make me appreciate the superdome more.

miserable people

Not very many outwardly "happy" people in NYC.

Which is ironic because there are so many gays.

It's one of the reasons why New Orleans has hosted more Super Bowls than any other city. Our tight geography means that the Dome, French Quarter, hotels and all the tourist attractions are all within walking distance of each other. Couple that with liberal alcohol ordinances and you have unequivocally the best host city in America.
